I don't blame her for wearing it twice. That dress was beautiful and she looks awesome in it.

tenpoundsofcheese: stoli n coke: fracto: It seems the First Lady wants to get in on the trolling. How can you show America that you aren't out of touch? Wear an outfit twice. Poor Americans can identify with that. If an opponent criticizes you for it they will look like a rich asshole.

In a campaign where one of the issues is wasteful spending, it's not a good idea for anyone to call out someone for wearing an outfit more than once. Kind of adds to the whole "out of touch" thing.

It's funny, since these kind of threads are posted and greenlighted every day, both pro-Republican and pro-Democrat, yet both sides here on Fark deny they're intellectually dishonest vehemently. The blame for this kind of thing falls squarely on Drew, and I'd love to see him make a comment on it. The fact is, fake threads like this one generate responses and hype, which generate income for Drew, and that's precisely why admins are allowed to greenlight them.

topcon: MrBallou: topcon: To say nothing of Bird Shirt, she's certainly nothing special, but you people who have been parroting how beautiful Michelle is for four years now are hilarious.

Here, for example, is one of the hottest black women to have ever existed, Stacey Dash:

[ionenewsone.files.wordpress.com image 850x1132]

And Michelle Obama:

[3.bp.blogspot.com image 850x831]

I mean, we get it. You like Obama the president. I don't dislike Obama either. But stop pretending his wife is anything resembling hot, she isn't. She has an oddly shaped face and eyes, big teeth, a bigger ass than her body should have, etcetera. SWOON, SHE'S SO BEYOOTEFUL.

She wasn't even attractive when she was youthful.

[i.imgur.com image 300x325]

OK, studman, we get it: you have high standards. I still think she's a nice looking lady, in every sense.

//Gotta admit it, Stacey Dash is breath-taking.

Oh, yeah, real high standards. It's so tough to find women hotter than the supermodel that is Michelle. I mean, look at all my posts in the past where I've detailed how I don't date women who are less attractive than people like Heidi Klum, Elle MacPherson, and of course Michelle.

I just like having a first lady who doesn't look like she's had 5 Valiums and 4 vodka tonics by lunchtime. Sorry, the Stepford thing just doesn't do it for me.

okay see, that's where you went off the deep end. Who is "we" ? I wasn't aware I was arguing with some hivemind cabal. Are you the hive queen? I don't want to lose your respect. That's THE LAST THING I NEED TODAY.

I woke up at 2 A.M. this morning, which is very unusual for me, and I couldn't go back to sleep for about twenty minutes. First that, and now I've lost the respect of the hive queen. What else is going to happen to me today?

A) The woman liked the dress and sees no problem wearing it again

B) There is a secret libruhl plot to create an issue so subtle as to be pretty much imperceptible to everyone but the wingnuts

It's not a secret liberal plot, they're not smart enough to be anything but obvious.

Close2TheEdge: I used to work for an upscale retail chain in the DC area. One HUGE problem they had was the practice of wealthy trophy wives coming in, purchasing a $1500 evening gown from the designer section, wearing it to a formal event, and then returning it the next day. Bonus - Often, the gowns had blood and/or semen stains on them.

Things got so bad that they implemented a special policy against returns. My job was to audit compliance. So my wife (girlfriend at the time) would go in with my audit credit card, purchase a fancy gown in one store, then drive to another the next day and try to return it. A fun little bit of fantasy.

//No, her's did not have blood and semen stains on them.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take them to realize that providing free rental of dresses to customers wasn't a profit making venture? Or were they hoping to use the dress give aways as loss leaders?

If I were a wealthy socialite who could only wear a dress once instead of an ex-punk rocker who lives in the midwest, I'd use renttherunway.com for all my evening gown needs. Perhaps some of these boutiques should consider renting their dresses as well as selling them. That being said, I'm quite happy I don't have 'evening gown needs'. Bleh.

Well, some of them are funny, true enough. It's just trollish and dishonest. It's fine when it's an obvious joke.

We go off on something that may not have any sort of connection to the original point of the thread. Ann Romney (wife of Mitt Romney, presidential candidate for 2012) is being accused of being so rich that she would never wear an expensive gown twice, therefore (am I going too fast for you?) attempting to advance a class war between Dems and Replublicans because Dems are so middle class and Republicans like Mitt are so disgustingly rich that voting Americans can not in good conscience vote for such an out of touch person.

Had to do it. Here are some of the comments FTFA:

"She would be a better role model of healthy eating if she lost 20-25 pounds."

"I think most of her taste is in her mouth. Someone got hold of her and told her to stop dressing like some Detroit Hoochie Mama for one thing.... [...] Are you so blind and wanting a black to stay in the White House that you really think she's so wonderful and let him destroy our country ? You should hear the stories the secret service tell. yes, all those political cartoons and rants about how she's destroying 'merica cause she wants to help our kids learn about healthy eating habits, totally all from the liberal lib MSM media, your hands are all nice and clean from coming up with this sentiment

There you go you little stump monkey - stirring up shiat again. I actually like her healthy eating program....should have been done long ago.

tenpoundsofcheese: Weird that subby has a problem with Michele wearing the same dress twice and has to blame it on Ann to make e point.

you're just...you're just grasping for bites now aren't you? Where is this blame? I see humor and a punchline and some snark but I don't see this blame you speak of.

tenpoundsofcheese: Mock news, yes

Make news up, no

Do you see the difference?

How hard do you scrub at the end of the day? Does the bullshiat ever come off?

Fart_Machine: BraveNewCheneyWorld: I for one am glad that our journalistic resources are being used to find how many times a particular garment has been worn by the first lady instead of trivial things like holding elected representatives accountable for their statements and actions.

That would explain why it's in the style section and not in news.

karnal: Dems are so cute when they fight over how Michelle Obama looks.

please, I'm one of those Republicans you help kick out of the party. I just find the unusual "anti-michelle" sentiment to be fasciniatingly disturbing.

Generated by your media and then attributed to the Romney's

hey now, I was not stirring shiat up. You had said that the "anti-michelle" sentiment was brought about because of the left's media creating it. I was merely pointing out that they are not the ones that bring it up.

It's like the pot intentionally calling the kettle black just to rile people up.
They know they're full of shiat, and they want people to call them out on it.

karnal: Are you not able to follow a thread?
Ann Romney (wife of Mitt Romney, presidential candidate for 2012) is being accused of being so rich that she would never wear an expensive gown twice, therefore (am I going too fast for you?) attempting to advance a class war between Dems and Replublicans because Dems are so middle class and Republicans like Mitt are so disgustingly rich that voting Americans can not in good conscience vote for such an out of touch person.

I think someone needs a timeout.

Alright.....let me know when I can come back in.

You can come back on election night.
