I wonder if the housekeeper had any idea how much it was worth?

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.

$3,000,000 = $80,000

It's not math, it's Fark.com

In fairness to subby the article headline says $3M too, and then never mentions the discrepancy. Not sure wtf.

The article states that both the bust and a shadowbox worth $80,000 was stolen.

Ah, that makes more sense. I thought it meant that together they were worth that; you'd think they'd mention the dollar value of the important part in the actual article.

Someone has been stealing my newspaper every morning for the last month. Had I known I could summon the FBI and the IRS to help me find the... wait? I'm not ultra wealthy and able to use government agencies as my personal security guards? Drag. I wish I had been smart enough to choose to be born rich. Damn my poor foresight!

Bust = 3 million
Shadowbox = 80,000

getting your rare antiques damaged by thieves... priceless (literally)

If journalists put priority on priceless busts of our country's founders over shadow boxes that are $79,800 overpriced, Drew wouldn't own a site.

And bust is not worth $3M. It's priceless. The owner last paid $3M. I'd pay $30 and a bag of chee- well most of a bag of cheetoes. Ben Franklin's richest living relative might pay more. That's what priceless means.

Dumb biatch likely heard "this is valuable, don't touch it" and grabbed it. Not like things like that are easily sell able. AND she damaged it as well.

A bust of the Boobiesmaster General of the USA? How appropriate...

Especially, if your housekeeper gets dropped of for work by a Firefly class shuttle.

I doubt she's got an extensive fencing network to offload rare and valuable art works. I imagine she'd have thrown it on eBay for $50 + shipping.

The damage to it is what pisses me off, and that maid should have to pay for restoration.

I was wondering if she damaged it first and then took it to hide the fact that she damaged it.

It's busted.

I'm sure if you possessed some rare work of historical art whose preservation is in the national interest, the FBI would investigate its cross-border theft.

\It's not because he's rich, it's because the work is priceless.

So that's what happened to the one in the Oval Office...
