The Siri ads took themselves too seriously. The smugness was palpable. The featured actors in the commercials all came across like they fully expected these ads to be considered the coolest thing on the planet.

Personally, I like the Jack-in-the-Box commercials where they're trying to get a Siri-like product to work right.

Meh. The Cheese panorama spot was pretty cute.

Mayhap, but no matter how cute a concept is, when it's accompanied by a 10 second monotone eeeeeeeee, sound, the channel's getting turned, the commercial fast-forwarded, or the sound muted. Hell, the most annoying sound in the world bit on dumb and dumber was half as long.

Yep. The headphones. That's what the ad department came up with as the new hot feature. That's the best they have. Headphones. Only $179.95 at your Apple Store.

Hey, all of the cool emperors are wearing these clothes. Don't you want to be cool?

Yeah, I was wondering about that one too.

I guess Turdbucket from yesterday's apple thread will come in here and have graphs showing that they have twice the bandwidth or something.

No no no. The headphones get appreciably longer battery life than Android maxx headphones.

I saw that ad last night for the first time. I actually flipped off my tv and cursed Apple and I am not the type to usually do that.

I want to try a pair because I can't see how they would be more comfortable then the squishy silicon ones that are popular; now considering the apple earbuds are still hard plastic

Samsung on the other hand has some pretty cool commercials. And phones.

2012-09-25 10:25:24 AM
Worst new ad is the one where he's amazed...AMAZED...that a phone can both have a bigger screen AND be thinner. Apparently Apple really does think their customers are rubes. Oh, and the "thumb" commercial where they pretend the awkward dimensions are a feature. Interestingly, I've yet to see one that actually shows of any true feature of the device.

And they're not even very good. Basically, they're still just cheap-ass pack-in ear buds.

Love the way one video says it's "great for watching HD video", except at only 640 pixels high in landscape mode it's nowhere near HD. Unlike the HTC One X, Samsung galaxy 3....

/The Panorama feature looks cool. That's not standard on my HTC, but it is available as an app.

The fact that everyone has different sized hands pretty much betrays the fact that someone in advertising pulled that "feature" out of their ass. They are clearly struggling to find highlight-worthy features.

All an Android manufacture has to do to take the piss out of Apple is do an ad in real time comparing Google Now to Siri or any other Apple feature. Apple speeds up their ads a lot to make the phone seem snappier

I love how the paid shills and brainwashed douchebags all get together in a thread to trade talking points off the newest script. Sort of like a circle jerk, but with much smaller dicks.

I love how people think corporations would pay people to lurk on obscure threads.

How closed-minded and paranoid do you have to be in order to believe that anyone who has different point of view is being paid?

Apple: "We haven't put any real amazing groundbreaking tech into any of our iPhones in a few years, we've just been playing catch-up. But, hey, here are some new earphones to distract you from the fact that our new phone is basically as innovative as putting hot-sauce on scrambled eggs."

Flint Ironstag: /The Panorama feature looks cool. That's not standard on my HTC, but it is available as an app.

One of the two iHumpers will be in here shortly to tell you that it was available as an app on the older iPhones. My Galaxy Nexus has had it since I bought it. Hell, my original Droid X had that feature as well, but not as slick as the one on the Nexus.

One thing I'm extremely happy about is the fact that Verizon finally allowed Google to bring 4.1 onto the Nexus. I had been rooted for a while and running a couple of different JB roms, but when I found out that the update finally came out, I un-rooted my phone and went to the stock JB rom. While there are some nice features on the two roms I ran, the solid Google build of JB is really, really good and the stability is rock-soild.

The only drawback is that G-wallet isn't supported on the VZW Nexus. I guess I have to start taking my card out of my wallet again to pay for gas and beer.

Oh the humanity...

Ha! But really, even though everyone mocks that commercial, one thing remains true: EVERYONE knows Frankie and Johnnies. Sort of how we all know "Head-On." So given the $14 those commercials cost, I'd say that's one hell of an ROI.

I actually found that my HTC does have Panorama as standard, it is a feature that ICS introduced. I'd just never noticed it!

That's because no one takes panoramic pictures.
