Let's see... players go on strike and get ridiculous $$$ because they don't think they got enough as it was. Refs get $3 Million cut from their pensions and are justifiably pissed, and the NFL pulls this BS.

Flags flew in that game like pennants in a used car lot (what was it, like 25 penalties?!?!), and this wasn't the only bad call. They farked up the NE-Baltimore game too. Well done Roger, you better get the real refs back, and back soon: otherwise this whole season is going to blow up in your face.

Game was still pretty fun to watch thanks to the Seattle defense and the Pack's response in the second half, but all the penalties took something from the game.

2012-09-25 12:56:31 AM
As long as you still watch and buy merchandise, the NFL has no incentive to pay the refs.

Excellent headline, subby.

The NFL is getting what they deserve right now. But I am so sick of millionaire crybabies shedding tears over the GAME they are getting to paid to play. If Drew Brees is all butthurt and broken about it like he sounded today, quit and go get a job. I bet 99% of the Farkers who work hard, hit their goals, and give it all to their companies get, what, a 3% raise if they're lucky? A professional athlete at the bottom of his field gets a ton more. For playing a game.

I thought Dilfer and Young were going to start crying in the post game report.

I'm more stoked to watch next week's games, how can they possibly top that? It'll be crazy to see.

I'm going to say it again: the coaches and players need to refuse to take the field this weekend, and perhaps the Browns-Ravens (I think) can get us started on Thursday. Goodell will only be forced to address this if we all stand up and spit in his eye. The coaches and players need to boycott, and if they can't we need to.

brap: I have no idea what's going on but really really want to blow a fuse mentally.

A large portion of the nation is debating whether or not the quality of what they are watching when they sit down every week to drink and eat greasy foods is worth not sitting down to drink and eat greasy foods next week.

LOL! Great headline subs.

As for the game. Personally, get the real refs and go back and replay it.

There were so many bad calls throughout the game, so may on major plays that there's no telling, right now, which team would've won. (It's a pity as I like both teams and was really looking forward to this game.)

The ESPN guys are harping on the end play like it was the only game decider. What? The other 20 bad calls didn't count somehow? The other blatant shoves also didn't count?

Picking on the last play of the game like it was the only thing that affected the game is just ridiculous.

********************************************************************* * ********************************************************************** *********************************

Also, on a purely football note. Could someone explain to me how the Seahawk player having his left arm and hand between the Green Bay player's chest and ball with his right hand on the ball as they came down is not a simultaneous? I have watched that replay a dozen times by now and every shot has his arm snaked up between the ball and the Green Bay player and they *both* come down with *both* hands all over the ball.

I don't care if the rule says that the offense or defense should get the ball at that point (if simultaneous catch.) So rule is beside the point for what I'm asking. It just plain *looks* like a simultaneous catch. They both have their hands all over the ball. That's what I see, that's what the people I'm watching the game with see and we can't figure out what the talking heads are going on about? Can they honestly not see his arm and hands in there?

/seriously, feel like I'm in the twilight zone or something....

If you think it's not work, I'd like to see you go through the conditioning NFL players have to. And please, tell us what company you work for where you are responsible for bringing in millions of dollars in revenue and don't get much of a paycheck.

Excellent work, subby.

That will be the last time I click on ESPN unless the scab refs are replaced. I'm done with it all. I don't care. Life is too short to get worked up about this if the NFL won't take officiating their own games seriously. It's on a WWE-like level now, and with wrestling at least you know what you are getting.

/Yeah, I know, they won't miss me either.
//My opinion didn't matter a whole lot in the WI recall election, either, so I used to it.

I agree with you, but watching all these bad calls is in itself pretty damn entertaining.

The replacement referees tried to gift Seattle the win back in opening week. Shouldn't be amazed they finally succeeded.
