I'm surprised anyone noticed.

I don't know, subby... in this day and age, most people wouldn't be ashamed to be on a gay dating site.

Quick! Someone create a profile on that site named Tony Homo.

I am a big Cowboys fan and I visit DallasCowboys.com once a season maybe. It is a cluttered, disorganized mess.

I assume the new gay site would be better organized. IAmRight have you noticed more hits on your profile there?

They got the idea from Chicago's website, bearsfans.com.

I thought it was a dating site for both gays & straights. No matter, though. Out in the non-sports world, the word "cowboy" does refer to more than just the one football team. If I'm looking for the website to the Dallas Cowboys, do I google "cowboys" or do I google "dallas cowboys?" Hurrrrrrrr the internet is hard!

I hate the Cowboys as much as anyone, but one must admit that Tony Romo gets more quality trim than any man aught to.

He's up there with John Mayer and Timberlake in that regard.

Just like any good-looking successful fellow, they must be called gay so that some stud can feel better about themselves. Tom Brady, David Beckham, and who knows who else. But really, calling someone gay in an effort to insult them is.... well, kind of not cool.

Being biased against homosexuals is socially destructive and irrational. Being biased against the Dallas Cowboys is good ol' common sense.

Barely half of the NFL teams own their generic teamname.com domains.

I had to type in bears.com to test that, which came with some trepidation. The weirdest one was ravens.com, which is apparently owned by the New Haven Ravens (past AA baseball team), but redirects to facebook.com.

paswa17: I had to type in bears.com

Huh. A website selling bear-related stuff. If it relates to bears, other than the Chicago variety, they got it. Yogi Bear T-shirts, California flag T-shirts, Winnie the Pooh mugs, panda keychains, "bear riding a shark" T-shirts that would have been hilarious four years ago... and a T-shirt that just says "Second Amendment" (without even the words "bear arms," but I guess you just have to infer it, because why else would it be on this website?).

They don't seem to have Furry merchandise, though. Bit of a disappointment there. I'll just have to grin and... ah shiat, I can't even find my David Caruso sunglasses.

Okay, now I'm curious. DING! means it goes to the NFL team.

AFC:

bills.com -- mortgages, debt consolidation, et cetera
dolphins.com -- DING!
patriots.com -- DING!
jets.com -- private aircraft chartering

ravens.com -- redirects to Facebook
bengals.com -- DING!
browns.com -- DING!
steelers.com -- DING!

texans.com -- squatter portal
colts.com -- DING!
jaguars.com -- DING!
titans.com -- squatter portal

broncos.com -- squatter portal
chiefs.com -- HTTP 403 Forbidden
raiders.com -- DING!
chargers.com -- DING!

NFC:

cowboys.com -- already discussed
giants.com -- DING!
eagles.com -- "under construction"
redskins.com -- DING!

bears.com -- bear-themed merchandise
lions.com -- Lions Park Computers, IT consultants
packers.com -- DING!
vikings.com -- DING!

falcons.com -- "under construction"
panthers.com -- DING!
saints.com -- squatter portal
buccaneers.com -- DING!

cardinals.com -- St. Louis Cardinals, MLB franchise
rams.com -- Colorado State Rams fan site
49ers.com -- DING!
seahawks.com -- DING!

So that's 17 names going to their teams, 6 with other legitimate purposes, and 9 zonks. Not bad for semi-common words.

I remember some DC beat writer biatching up a storm because the Wizards didn't own wizards.com (it's the site for Wizards of the Coast - the folks that make Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons).

The NFL should do like MLB and make them all child domains of NFL.com

Teams that already have their domains could redirect.

Theres still the problem of the rights to the domain. Dbacks.com redirects to the mlb hosted site, same with cardinals.com (baseball not football)

You mean to tell me that people involved in role-playing games preceded a jocular-related organization in acquiring a computer/internet-related item?
