Mitt Romney is a troll?

That's the most intelligent and thought-provoking description of his Campeign I have ever seen on FARK. And you know what, it makes a whole lot of sense.

2012-09-24 12:24:25 PM
What do you mean, "there's no details to reforming Fannie and Freddie?"

When the GOP says, "reform Fannie and Freddie" they mean, "dismantle Fannie and Freddie." How is that not obvious?

2012-09-24 12:34:11 PM
He's going to reform mortgage lending practices by...reforming mortgage lending practices.

Seems perfectly legit.

You give Mittens too much credit. In order to be a troll, one must set forth with the intent of trolling. There is no such intent in this case.

This is a case when it is unintentional trolling. When you finally realize that your argument is too stupid for words and you try to convince everyone you were trolling the whole time.

I'm still not convinced this whole campaign isn't some elaborate money laundering scheme.

Can't you see? We must dismantle Freddie and Fannie. They do nothing but contribute to the entitlement society. It is enslavement pure and simple. You sound like a %47'er.

That's right I said it. Homeowners are freeloaders dragging America down into a socialist pit of despair.

President Obama is a troll, and good at it.

Romney is just disorganized, disingenuous and inconsistent.

It's a lot more detailed than that.

He's going to reform GSEs to provide a long-term solution for housing finance reform.

*Gasp* You're right. By inserting "GSEs" between reforms, that is far more detail than expected!

Rent.

Apos: *Gasp* You're right. By inserting "GSEs" between reforms, that is far more detail than expected!

After a lot of thought and contemplation, he decided to go with "long-term, sustainable" as the very specific adjectives that describe how his reform will provide a solution for reform.

He could have easily gone with "short-term, myopic," or even "half-assed, patchwork," but he took the highly controversial bold-choice of stating he wants a long-term solution. That's the sort of courage Romney has.

2012-09-24 01:45:36 PM
I also find it amusing that so many people act as though trolls are real and that there are no whiny journalists.

and making foreclosures easier.

The little detail in it is just another shiat on the lower middle class and poor people that Romney hates.

They have nothing but empty rhetoric, hyperbole, and misinformation. Given this you have to guess what he'll do based on the GOP's most recent performance of doing nothing to reform anything other than where penis's can go and what objects should be inserted into rape victims. Legislating sex is a losing platform and the antithesis of small government and personal freedom.

SuperPacs can spend money on just about anything they need. A new yacht to meet with other potential donors? Yep. Living expenses in multiple states to act as outside offices? Yep. You name it and they can buy it.

This!

Once Romney started tanking in the polls, he gave up. Now he's not even campaigning, he's just fund-raising. Is he legally allowed to recoup the $40 million he "loaned" to his campaign in 2008?

2012-09-24 03:54:09 PM
End "Too-Big-To-Fail" And Reform Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac: The Romney-Ryan plan will completely end "too-big-to-fail" by reforming the GSEs. The four years since taxpayers took over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, spending $140 billion in the process, is too long to wait for reform. Rather than just talk about reform, a Romney-Ryan Administration will protect taxpayers from additional risk in the future by reforming Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and provide a long-term, sustainable solution for the future of housing finance reform in our country.

My brain just comitted suicide.

It's a wonderful way to pull about a billion dollars out of the economy and the pockets of the wealthy and put it in your own. I'd actually respect Romney more if he was running this as a long con.

Here's how he's going to do it:
Rubes and rich people give tons of money to his campaign
He tanks the campaign intentionally but doesn't spend all the money
His connected people get their money back or are hired as consultants to the campaign

2012-09-24 04:01:54 PM
Hasn't this been the case for months?

Mitt Romney: "I have a plan..."
Journalists and thinking people: "Your plan offers nothing but vagaries, speculation, unsourced facts and attacks, and a repeat of the talking points developed since your last 'plan'. SPECIFICS, Mitt - has you some?"
MR: "My plan is all about specifics! Ann, tell 'em!"
Ann Romney: "I think we've given you people all you need to see to know that Mitt Romney is the bees' knees, the dogs' bollocks and the Queen's knickers. Stope being so mean, you meanies!"
JATP: "Um, still waiting on those specifics, guys..."
Fox News: "Left-wing palace guard lamestream liberal fact-checking media run by liberals and socialists and is totally in the tank for Obama asks asinine questions of presumptive president-elect, President Mitt Romney. Romney answered these questions while slaughtering an al-Qaeda carrier battle group and plugging Iran's nuke reactor into their Islamofascistry centrifuge thereby blowing up all terrorists worldwide."

GOP voters: FTW!
Everyone else: *facepalm*

I don't know much about campaign fundraising or how well documented your allocation of those funds has to be but like anything, defrauding the whole system doesn't seem like it would be too hard.

I have no doubt that as much money will be pulled out of the Treasury and go towards things that financially favor himself or his partners. That was his entire business plan previously.
