Carter: for when the crazy you're noticing just isn't crazy enough.

It's crap like this, along with his revisionist history lessons, that let you know his presidency was a monstrous failure. He'd serve himself best by learning to STFU at all costs - history is already judging him harshly enough without him adding an extra layer of stupid to everything he's done in life.

Outrageous claim, you say?

Big deal. George Romney claimed to have invented the question mark and accused chestnuts of being lazy.

Well, the GOP has proven it is incapable of running against Obama, and they dare not run against Clinton, so what else would you have them do?

Yeah! Republicans are willing to consider a president irrelevant and wash their hands of him way earlier than that. Like, say after three years. Or even while he's still in office.

So now Obama isn't even a citizen? Even if the birther theory is true that's not a claim that you could make.

You can't expect a president's policies to have effects beyond his term! Unless they're Carter, apparently.

Which policies, specifically has Obama emulated from Carter? Which legislation and foreign actions would you say he's trying to recreate?

I'm sure you can name them, and aren't mindlessly repeating talking points like a teabagger drone.

1. Carter was referring only to the mechanisms of the election, namely the voting machines they use, not the fairness.

2. Venezuelan elections have been pretty fair. Chavez may be a dick and does oppress minorities and dissent, but there's not much question that he's won his elections legitimately, except for complaints from some of his opponents who are frankly just as corrupt.

2012-09-24 10:12:09 AM
A sensible system of elections would drop all the Diebold nonsense and go to xeroxed ballots with extra large boxes to put check off. No hanging chads, no dimpled ballots, no electronic-only records, just bic pens and paper.

The election is in November, and inauguration isn't until the middle of January. The 24 hour news channels can suck it while we wait for people to physically count the votes.

But the Venezuelans keep voting in socialists. That automatically means the game is rigged.

Uh, the Chavez regime has been pretty big on violent voter suppression and using constitutional referendums to give himself and his party greater powers. That's a lot worse than, let's say, passing voter ID laws.

The legacies that Carter and Reagan have amassed since both left office should leave most baby boomers feeling pretty goddam stupid for their vote in 1980. Must be how Dubya voters feel.

Hey, it's ok, some people look at the issues and analyze a candidate's stance on issues, and some of us want somebody who reminds us of our Gampy or our favorite frat dude back in college to be leader of the free world. But, if you fall into that second category, maybe you should ask an adult about any other decisions you may be about to make by yourself.

I believe he means they count the votes correctly. They do of course suppress voters, but if you manage to make it to the ballot box, you can be sure that your vote is counted.

Venezuela, led by socialist dictator Hugo Chavez since 1999, has often been accused of anything but fair elections, and, according to a Reuters report, the country is ranked by Transparency International as the second-most corrupt nation in the Americas, after Haiti.

The praise was welcomed by Chavez only a couple of weeks before the nation's elections, where he faces significant competition from challenger Henrique Capriles.

He's not just a dictator, he's really bad at it!

I was thinking more in terms of the lousy candidate getting elected because that's a nice life you got there it'd be a shame if something happened to it

Which is apparently ironic since any other article mentioning elections at WND says they are being stolen or that Obama isn't even eligible to be on the ballot.
