With support like this from Newt, Cain, and T-Paw, I can't understand why Romney's not doing better.

Yeah, but his moon base has blackjack and hookers.

In the future, Planet Romney's wiki will have a factoid like, "Has more monocle wearers per capita than any other inhabited planet"

This is one area where I agree with Gingrich, god help me. We need to be investing more in our space research and capacity.

I don't remember politicians of the same party sniping at each other like this during other elections. Not after the nominees are named anyway.

But anyway, they need to make up their mind. Is Obama a tax and spend liberal or is he not spending enough on things like space and defense?

Newt's just furious that he just learned Mormons can have multiple wives simultaneously instead of having to divorce the ones that wear out.

"First there was the dream, now there is reality. Here in the untainted cradle of the heavens will be created a new super race, a race of perfect physical specimens. You have been selected as its progenitors. Like gods, your offspring will return to Earth and shape it in their image. You have all served in public capacties in my terrestrial empire. Your seed, like yourselves, will pay deference to the ultimate dynasty which I alone have created. From their first day on Earth they will be able to look up and know that there is law and order in the heavens."

Saturday, Romney's running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, laid out the campaign's plan during a townhall meeting in Orlando, Fla., and accused President Barack Obama of "dismantling" America's space program.

The Obama campaign reacted to Ryan's comment this afternoon by noting that Ryan voted against NASA funding twice in the 2008 and 2010 NASA Authorization Acts... Link

I can't pay no doctor bill.

Ten years from now I'll be payin' still.
(while Headso beat me to it)

The man jus' upped my rent las' night.
('cause Headso beat me to it)

No hot water, no toilets, no lights.
(but Headso beat me to it)

I wonder why he's uppi' me?
('cause Headso beat me to it?)

I wuz already payin' 'im fifty a week.
(with Headso beat me to it)

Taxes takin' my whole damn check,

Junkies makin' me a nervous wreck,

The price of food is goin' up,

An' as if all that shiat wuzn't enough:

A rat done bit my sister Nell.

[Paul Ryan] continued: "Mitt Romney and I believe that America must lead in space. Mitt Romney and I believe we need a mission for NASA, a mission for a space program, and we also believe that this is an integral part of our national security."

Cold War mentality.

"accused President Barack Obama of "dismantling" America's space program."

You mean that same program that successfully landed a rover the size of a minivan on a planet 350 million miles away? I think that program is doing fine

Letting the private sector take over the relatively routine LEO stuff let's NASA devote its attention to the big idea missions

It's possible that Newt is just a much more complex man than we realized. I mean, we've known for years that he's a terrible human being, the worst kind of hypocrite, amazingly narcissistic, he cheats, he lies, the whole nine yards. That much is known.

It could be that he's also just plain fruit loops.

They still are. Deserts offer the best observation platforms. If we could build more giant telescopes in the Saudi and Iranian deserts, we stand to learn a lot more about the universe

Isn't it obvious that at one time it was a lot warmer in Alaska and on the Moon? It wasn't a big pipeline that we've created from Texas and shipped it up there and put it under ground so we can now pump it up?

So let me get this right, Obama is cutting back on a government funded entity to alllow more bootstrappy private sector work, while Mittens, Kittens and a Newt want more government involvement in an enterprise that uses Science, and jobs for the edumicated elitist scientists that base thier work on non creationist dogma.

\Did I miss NASA's trip through the looking glass?

I know, and how cool would it be to be able to see what space is like, what's out there, from the the other side of the globe. I mean, the U.S. makes up like 7% of the earths landmass, so even considering a field of view wider than just straight up we can still only see what, maybe 30-40% of space? I hope Newt runs again in 2016, we need someone like him in the White House to help us reach our potential in space.
