Well he thought that meant foreign country to his money, since he doesn't keep any of it here.

2012-09-23 04:02:19 PM
I find this almost as humorous as the clarification that he didn't take as big a charity deduction as he could/should have.

I cannot wait for the cognitive dissonance that will be defending this one. (Even if it is a mistake, it's ok if they do it.)

The recent news is really starting to give some meat to the speculation on previous tax returns.

Can't blame the guy. After the things Taxbongo has done the last four years, this country sure seems foreign to me.

You guys really think he sits down and does his own taxes?

I think he puts his taxes on one leg at a time.

Of course he doesn't. But one does expect him to have tax preparers competent and thorough enough to avoid something like this.

Someone's going to be whipped for this.

It would be funny if he offshored his accounting.

They would believe that the USA was foreign.

I see him more as putting both legs in and then jumping up and down as he pulls them up.

Well there's ONE tax preparer who won't be getting any car elevator rides.

All of that time cooking-up these returns, and he farked THAT up? I guess the creative math and hiding shiat was a distraction.

Lately, his campaign has suggested he put his pants on his head to better relate to the people.

"OK, we've got the off-shore accounts hidden?"
"Check"
"And it looks like I actually paid taxes?"
"Check"
"Sounds like we're ready, then! .....Hey, you left the foreign country section blank right? Cuz that would look really bad, since I already have a reputation for sending all of my money and jobs to other countries."
"We're alllll good, sir. Don't you worry!" *wink*

Yeah, because this is the only mistake the Romney campaign has made thus far. It isn't like this is the icing on the cake of a cavalcade of missteps. They farked up and implied he was foreign born on his hilariously manipulated 2011 tax return they have assumedly been parsing out for the months it took him to release it. That's funny.

Let's see 2009.

2012-09-23 05:04:50 PM
Well, some people might consider Massachusetts a foreign country.

2012-09-23 05:09:18 PM
Romney deserves to be tax-hounded until election day.

He probably thought the Cayman Islands were part of Latin America.

According to Fark Independents, Obama is the most secretive president. And yet, in 2008 he released 7 years of tax returns. Rmoney has now released only 2 years, partially. So what does that make him?

A true American. You see, Barack Obama looks foreign and scary so we have to know everything about him, including what he had for breakfast on June 12th, 1983, anything less and we won't know whether or not he woke up to a big breakfast of terror waffles every day. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, is a wholesome American and therefore his reluctance to reveal his personal information is just him exercising his patriotic right to keep government from invading his privacy.

crypticsatellite: You guys really think he sits down and does his own taxes?

Nope. But it is pretty funny that the best tax attorneys money can buy farked up. Plus, considering this is the ONE return they publicly released, it's funny that they didn't have a couple of campaign staffers quadruple-check it.

Then there's picturing the Birther/Teabagger reaction if Obama's tax returns listed the USA as a foreign country, as an added bonus.

2012-09-23 05:32:28 PM
I'm kind of curious what kind of software is used for super-high end taxes like the Romney's would use. It can't be anything that any of us are familiar with, is it?

It does kind of suggest the person who filled out the form isn't an American, doesn't it?

he will amend his return after the election to correct that. it's just for show. and his charity is his church in which his buddies run things and I'm sure they have a way of paying him back under the table.

Who cares? There's so much other good stuff to dogpile on, this is stupid.

2012-09-23 05:38:40 PM
My crazy theory that he gave up his American citizenship as a tax dodge (And that's why he can't release his tax returns) has some evidence!

Insane theories 1, regular theories several trillion!

Yes, waiting until the press and the country really started to focus on the run-up to the election and then dropping his tax return a genius move.

/should have buried them by releasing them a year ago

Not sure. I snagged it off Reddit a week ago...

All that. Plus the Trump dig at the end of the article was kinda lulzy too.

"Yeah, Price Waterhouse Cooper? This is Mitt Farking Romney, pal. I want to know who the asshole is that missed deductions on my return. Look, I don't know what kind of operation you're running down there, but this is unacceptable and things better tighten up fast, or I'm gonna come down there and stick these Bally wingtips in the ass of everyone in that goddamn place. You heard me!"
