The Romney campaign has premised much of its message on Obama's economic record and has repeatedly refused to flesh out detailed policy proposals on issues from tax reform to immigration reform. The Romney campaign recently promised to reveal more specifics about what Romney would do in office, but has been slow to provide them.

Aren't the details supposed to be secret, but he'll reveal them once he's President?

I have been assured that Obama is going to take all my guns away if he wins. I have a relative that is pissed at me for not taking him seriously in this matter.

This is going to be good.

There is only one number that the Obama campaign needs to repeat anytime someone starts claiming Obama is a failure- 750,000. That's the number of jobs we were losing PER MONTH when Obama took office. The fact that he and congress stopped that freefall and reversed it, should automatically get him another term.

BTW, in 1980 when Saint Reagan elected, the economy GAINED 267,000 jobs. In 2008, when Obama was elected, the economy LOST 3,603,000 jobs. So tell us again how Reagan was so much better at creating jobs.

that's part of the problem. With a lot of politicians today (moreso republicans) this secrecy is a means of making sure the electorate does NOT know what you intend to do because it ultimately goes against their wishes. There was a governor several years ago (Damn I forget his name) that came out and said that was his campaign advise to republicans. DON'T tell the elctorate what you're going to do becuase they won't vote for you.

Or shorter: Democracy is for suckers.

Or, if you find yourself NOT so blessed, relief is just a not-phone call away.

To paraphrase Ron Swanson, there are certain members of my fox-news-loving, Limbaugh-fellating extended family that I haven't talked to in years, and in that time they've become some of my favorite relatives. We still never talk sometimes.

Helps that they live 3,000 miles away though.

Obama's a lazy good for nothing but he's going to impose socialism on us during a second term? Wat.

For a brief moment this summer, the GOP was unable to avoid reality. Polling showed them that the "are you better than you were 4 years ago?" question was answered by a majority of Americans as either "yes" or "about the same." Obama wins 90% of the "better off" voters, and among voters who feel things are the same, Obama has more than a 20-point lead over Rmoney.

It's refreshing to see the GOP realize their story about Obama being a disaster was total bullshiat, and not shared by a majority of the country. From inside the bubble, they really thought this was an easily-winnable election. And of course now it's going to be Romney's fault when/if they lose, instead of pointing the finger at their intellectually-bankrupt extremist political party.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This is fantastic.

So, how's the stock market doing?

If we have to look at the bottom line here, isn't that one of the big ones? Freefall vs stronger than ever?

How'd Mass fare as Romney left office?

At this point, Romney must really be regretting not having someone like McCain steal his thunder this time around...

I'm confused. If Bill Kristol says that and he's always wrong - what does that mean? Maybe the Dems did fark everything up. Maybe the US would be better off with Romney in charge.

No no no, it's like that riddle with the guards, one who always lies and one who always tells the truth, you can get the right answer from the liar, even though he's lying.

See, since Romney consistently lies, and Kristol is always wrong, then when Romney says that we're worse off than four years ago, he's lying, but Kristol disagrees with the lie, which is the truth, so that... aww, fark it, just look at Sliding Carp's post.

I know this one. Assuming you can only ask potato questions, the question you ask is "What would the other guard say is the herp to derp?". Whatever derp the guards point to, you herp the other derp.

Brooks argued that Obama's greatest weakness is a lack of a second-term agenda and that Romney can exploit that fact.

Wait, Romney has a first term agenda? News to me. So far, he's just running on the 'I'm not Obama' platform....

As for Obama's second term agenda, wouldn't it pretty much be to finish putting out the fire that Bush lit?

Mine could give a shiat about guns, but they are furious they are not clearing a million dollars a year yet. Their families pull in around 200-300k, they live in absurd McMansions, they drive multiple new cards and have kids that get one of everything. And they are angry all of them time. They get angry when they hear about poor people having food stamps or healthcare or job placement assistance. "No one ever helped me!" they shout, forgetting how our great-grandmother arrived in Michigan after fleeing her home country of Armenia during the Turkish Genocide. How this country opened its arms to refugees with nothing but the clothes they wore and memories of dead villages.

They have everything, fume over people with nothing, and forget their own history as they curse immigrants. Christmas should be interesting this year.

Republicans have almost no reason to be as annoyed with Obama. Almost everything he's done was either something Republican leadership dreamed up, or something they were in favor of in the past.

Liberals have way more reason to be angry than conservatives.

It is absolutely vital that Romney provide specifics on economic policies.

The economy is the soft underbelly of the Obama administration and Romney has the intelligence and financal background to distance himself from the president.

Fixing a farked up economy is the ticket, not empty rhetoric where Democrats are allowed to drive the talking points.

It still could happen. But it better happen quickly.

I've had this discussion my with family's tea partier. When I bring up the fact that only Romney has restricted gun use, I'm told it's a liberal media lie. Even if I use specific facts like the AWB, it doesn't matter.

People that exist in the Fox News echo chamber simply attribute any contradiction in facts to liberal lies. Either the facts agree with their views, or they're not really facts.

then discover that's the wrong thing to do with only 40+ days left till the election. Way to go Einstein.

I can't believe the GOP's entire cunning plan was to dig in their heels, act like petulant children and then point to the mess they largely created and never lifted a finger to clean up and say "Obama's fault, vote for us".

Sad thing is how many morans this crap actually works on.

I think they conceded the race a year ago. Just look at the group they allowed to dominate the primaries. There wasn't a single electable person among them. They simply accepted the least batshiat-insane candidate.

The real question will be what the GOP does after the election. Do they try to get back to the middle and abandon the tea partiers? Or do they give in completely and the sane Republicans jump ship to something like the Libertarian Party.

Romney camp just couldn't resist the 1980/Reagan "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" line. Unfortunately, it just ended up reminding independents and Democrats to be mad about what happened four years ago when there was still a Republican president.

I like how the first quote in the article, from Walker, says that "I think Mitt Romney has got that plan". So, you spent how many farking months raising person after person after person onto pedestals, making a mockery of your core voting block, secured your place as the Bible Party, and even after all that, these people still aren't sure if he has a farking plan??? He is supposedly the best of the best of the Republican party, and they "think" he has a plan.

Either they gave up on this election years ago and are trolling us all, or they really have no goddamn clue.

Someone just needs to get him to admit what tax deductions he'd close. It's already been determined that his "plan" is not feasible without either raising rates on the middle class or getting rid of some very popular deductions.

Every interviewer should be doing their best to try to force him to answer that question.
