Even when I was in the best shape of my life and could do 85 push ups in two minutes, I never could do even one with one arm. I've also never solved a Rubik's cube.

you still haven't.

This is a guy doing one handed pushups and scrambling a rubic's cube being played backwards.

You don't do your pushups correctly.

Used to do them all the time as a kid.

Everyone should do pushups daily!

I was in the Army, trust me, we did them correctly. I just couldn't maintain the balance to do them one handed. I'm guessing that it's easier for people with shorter arms to do them.

This vid combines my 2 main hobbies.

Solving a Rubik's Cube isn't a "hobby", it's just following a set of pre-ordered steps.

So building models isn't a hobby either? Pretty sure lots of models those come with pre-ordered steps known as "directions".

Really poor analogy, but I guess you get a point or two for trying...

Ive done sixty in a minute.
Can't do a one arm. No amount of twoarmed will get you there.

Ive talked to cubers who say once you do it a dozen times its a joke.

Lolwat?
A pushup is roughly what, 60% of body weight?

Per arm that is thirty percent each. Plus it is more chest than arm. But we can ignore that and pretend it is the same amount of tricep either way.

The one arm is going to be twice the weight (more if we don't ignore how muscles work). No amount of reps doing x weight is going to prepare someone for 2x.

Comparing muscles used you have the fact that most people are doing twenty percent more total weight on a barbell press than a dumbell. Plus due to balance on a one arm to hitting the shoulder differently and the tricep more.

I have too much free time at work, apparently.

You're selling solving a Rubik's Cube short by saying it's just following a set of steps. The hard part is knowing which steps to follow based the unsolved cube. Regardless, if this guy does something in his spare time and he likes doing it then it's a hobby. Your hobby may be deciding whether other things are hobbies, or it could be guessing what other peoples' hobbies are. I'm not sure what yours are but I will guess solving a Rubik's Cube isn't on the list.

while keeping his thumb on the green he is spinning the outside about 10 times this is not solving the cube it is spinning it back the 10 you moved it

Watch the video again and look at his legs. He's basically forming a tripod.

Seriously, can someone tell me why anyone would post something like this?

That video was kind of gay in more ways than one.

Where can I vote for dumbass? You know what a tripod is, right? He's doing a one-handed pushup....of course he's making a tripod. What's so special about that?

I think he is telling the military guy that a one handed pushup is easy because tripods stand up.

Standing on one foot for days is also easy. Basically you make a post. Posts rarely fall.

I never said it was easy. The other guy was just saying he had balance issues. In a normal pushup your arms are wide and your feet are together. If you use one hand you have to reverse that if you want the same level of stability.

I assure you, any balancing issues occur as a result of stability and strength, not a failure to spread your legs. But thanks for the lesson.

Next you'll be advising professional fighters about how simple all the things they do are, when you break them down to something meaningless and compare them to something fairly different.
