little-studied Bible verses

You mean by Christians. Since there is something called the Talmud that dissects it pretty heavily. And there are rabbis who have memorized the entire thing.

But WND has confirmed at least some of the story with archaeological sources secretly working within the tunnel structure beneath the Temple Mount.

Secretly indeed, since it's illegal to do any archaeology beneath the temple mount. If this actually is happening, it would be an international incident of epic proportions.

I really need to start stealing these plot lines for my next Dark Heresy/Black Crusade/Rogue Trader game.

Meh. I just found an old ringer-washer in my basement that I didn't know was there, so I suppose it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Wait, you went to the Faith section of a website and found a story about a religious item? Damn, that's was totally unexpected.

Have you checked Fark's Sports tag to see what kind of stories are there? Going out on a limb here - sports. Amirite?

They already found it in an episode of Storage Wars: Texas. Mary decorated it with felt and sold it for 200 bucks.

They can't ban archeology under the Temple Mount. That would be putting religion before science!

This isn't even new old news. There are only a couple of places the Ark would be if it existed, and Temple Mount is one of them. I've known that since 1975.

The regular dreck-writers at WND must have the weekend off.

2012-09-23 02:09:09 PM
I know more about how to buy the book and DVD then I do about the ark...... wait.... what?

The Ethiopians say its in Axum, still in its original box form. I've been to the spot, but women can't enter the temple that allegedly holds it, just the temple in front of it. My male friends got to go into the actual temple, but only the keeper is allowed to see it. Regular folk can just see the place that holds it, just like other arks in Ethiopian churches.

lethological_lassie: but women can't enter the temple that allegedly holds it, just the temple in front of it.

I'm surprised religions have loosened up enough to say that even us lowly females may be permitted to meekly enter God's Heaven once we've finished serving our mortal purpose of making babies and sammiches and baby sammiches.

Forgive me for still having a speck of respect left for Humanity, but does WND actually believe this stuff they publish or do they know that they're just pulling crap out of their ass a la Weekly World News?

Now there is compelling new evidence that's just what happened - and that the Ark still rests beneath the chamber known as the Holy of Holies...

Most of the
evidence for this theory of the Ark's location comes right out of the Bible - in passages discussed in a two-part video documentary

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

I'm not. I'm sure it would sound terrible.

2012-09-23 02:21:26 PM
If the Ark were in the church in Ethiopia, the Mossad would have snatched it out of there long ago -- most likely, they have already checked it out and either had seen that there's nothing real there or had taken it out secretly if it had been real. Just a thought.

If you were the Israeli government, wouldn't you do the same?

/American and Israeli who lived in Jerusalem
//No, didn't find the Ark in the Old City
///The Ark, as with most things in the Bible, is a metaphor or allegory, people
