(SeattlePI)   Can One Million people flushing their toilets simultaneously clean the sewers after water rationing? Will the sewers remain clogged up? Is there a t-shirt available for participants? It's the great Zimbabwe toilet flush, 7:30 PM, Central Africa Time   (seattlepi.com) divider line 42

Ugh, as if Zimbabwe couldn't get any nastier now they're having water problems and shiat has been accumulating on their sewage? *pukes blood*

Yeah, but they need reach, too. You couldn't just let a midget at a clogged toilet.

I'm thinking there is a word, or an expression, that one could use if that were to happen.

If it does go wrong, I bet the organizers of the flush will have a shiatfit.

I once heard (and loved) an Australian radio serial called "Doctor Poo." Yes it WAS a sendup of Doctor Who!

One storyline involved the idea that the ancient Egyptians only let their Jewish slaves use the toilet once a year. Hence Moses' plea "Let my people go!" When they finally did let go it caused a great flood that washed away their pursuers as they escaped Egypt.

///I predict that with their aging infrastructure the sewage pipes will burst and they will be in deep doo-doo.

Probably not. It's hilarious, but if the low-flush toilet/garbage disposal phenom continues to be a thing that a lot of people advocate then this is eventually going to be a problem for Americans. Too much solid and not enough water to keep it flowing.

u'd have to pay me $700 trillion (price of an apple) to do that.

Oh yeah, this can't possibly fail.

They should just do it the way it's done here in the states. Instead of expecting everyone to flush a toilet at the same time once a year, pass a $200 Million bond to have new pipes put in and spend 100's of thousands a year to have guys drive around with cameras to look at the clogged pipes.

When I was in high school, this rumor used to circulate that if you flushed every toilet in the school at the same time, it would fark up the plumbing and they'd have to send everyone home for the day. There'd always be some kid trying to get people organized to all flush exactly as the morning bell rang.

Arrogant Zimbabweans. We send them millions on aid, and for what? They have toilets for Christ's sake! They need to pull themselves up by their asses and fix their own problems.

They don't all have refrigerators yet. Until most of them get those we can consider them truly poor.

Ficoce: expecting everyone to flush a toilet at the same time

In this country, it's called "half-time".

It's important to do things together as a nation.

So how about that space programme? Want to give it another go (so to speak)?

I think the solution is to first supply everyone with TV's, then broadcast a long sporting event with advertisements that encourage people to consume liquids, and then when it ends everyone will run to the bathroom and flush all at once.

as someone who used to work in the wastewater industry, I would strongly encourage all Zimbabweans to stay the hell away from all toilets at the appointed time, to avoid the risk of a shiat shower

THIS.

Seriously, this sounds like the sort of "remedies" Pol Pot forced Cambodian citizens to do.
