I guess it really must be the money.

Yup, he's obviously paying too much. They should reduce his payment down to 1600 (what he claims is the requirement of the law) so he can have more for suits and trips while his kids get to watch him all over tv. I hate how so many men think of child support as a form of punishment.

we do need some serious child support reform in this country.

He was done with his part of fatherhood as soon as his dick went limp and he rolled over onto the dry part of the bed.

In fact, Pilar has filed her own legal docs outlining why she needs so much cash from Deion. Among the highlights:
-- $2,000/month for a special diet for the kids
-- $900/month on uniforms and shoes for the kids' sports activities
-- $500/ month on the children's cell phones

Pilar also claims she spends $450 on haircuts for her sons and treatments for her daughter's "very thick curly hair."

You know, in the case of professional athletes, entertainers, the poster is more right than wrong.

Deion is a slimeball. Just finished reading the little blurb in SI about his "prep school".

Deon Sanders IS STILL the football fairy. Eli Manning, as a football fairy was captured by a little girl. Peyton Manning is also a football fairy.

Why does it have to be some blanket monthly bill? Why not make these things a little more itemized? Have her send him a bill every month for the things she bought for the kids. How about a special credit card for child-related purchases? The figures quoted in the article sound like bullshiat.

Deion's position fails the laugh test.

He's asking for support to be set as if he makes $80,000/year in annual income.

I haven't seen any of the court paperwork (has anyone? TMZ didn't post it, and no one else claims to have seen it AFAIK) so we don't know the full story (e.g., it looks like he wasn't ordered to pay alimony, but seems to have been ordered to continue to make payments on the home his ex lives in) but his apparent opening position is ridiculous.

(That's based on the Child Support Standards Act ["CSSA"], which sets presumptive support at about 25% of the noncustodial parent's gross income. Primetime is asking to pay $20,000 in annual support, which is 25% of $80k. That same calculation indicates that the order that was used found income/assets worth about $500k annually)

In Texas there is no "alimony". Spousal support can be ordered by the court, but it's pretty rare & is very limited.

Had a neighbor some years back who was a raging alcoholic that liked to beat up on his wife. When she finally grew the balls to divorce his sorry ass, she was awarded spousal support, but only for 6 months. Better than nothing, I suppose.
