Saw her play a month ago at the obetz zucchini fest in Ohio. It was a free show and a great time. She played all the old stuff but her brand new stuff was cringeworthy lyrically.

Saw Joan Jett the night I turned 21 at midnight in a bar in my hometown. I was up at the bar and as midnight hit, I showed the bartender the fake ID I'd been drinking on (dumb, I know). He was about to throw me out on principle but people at the bar shouted no. The bartender relented. Instead I got semi escorted from the bar back up to the front of the stage and Joan Jett and the Blackharts sang "Too Bad on your Birthday" then followed it up with my request for Crimson and Clover.

Best 21st birthday ever.

Saw Joan this last July, at a local amusement park (paid the xtra $10 and stood right in front of the stage about 5 ft away from her), even close up she looks damned good for her age (which is only a couple of years older than my ugly, fat butt). She is "tiny" as someone above mentioned, but damn she had some energy on a night that was damned hot and humid - the combo that usually zaps the energy out of anyone. Played right at 2hrs. and didn't miss a lick.

As someone who vividly remembers the Runaway days, it was great to finally get the chance to see her perform live. Would love to see a reunion of the girls.

I always thought Jett was bisexual, but whatever; she's still damn good looking and yes, yes, yes I most definitely would.

Joan's odd, in a way. For a woman who came off as the bad girl who didn't give a damn about her bad reputation, she's never been in the news for ANYTHING that I can recall. No temper tantrums, no wrecked hotels, no public breakdowns, no arrests, and I never heard of her getting into any kind of a public fight with anyone. If it weren't for the Runaways movie, I wouldn't know much about her at all. Really, she's been a class act compared to many who had far more wholesome images.

She's just done her thing in an enthusiastic, workmanlike way, continuously, with class and without fanfare. I think if you do that for as long as Joan has, you become an institution.

The people who formed the circle didn't really interact with her to speak of..she just kinda stumbled and staggered along while they ran interference, not letting anyone talk to her or interact with her at all. She is a petite thing, for sure.

She played as part of a multi-act bill with the Ramones. Joey also went down to Bourbon Street and hung out with people and was very cool.

Not sure the best judgement of a person is 'what they do on bourbon street', as a general rule.

Coulda been a normal thing, coulda been a one-off where she just told security to pucker up and let her get drunk. Could be since she apparently is tiny she's super comfortable in 'safe' settings like shows/etc. where security controls the situation and has her back, but in the street it's different.
