I have some contractor buddies who still use bag phones. They do a lot of work out in the county, where reception can be...spotty, to put it mildly. You don't have any trouble getting a signal out in the valleys, unlike newer phones. The biggest issue is finding a carrier that supports that technology. These guys have been changing carriers on a regular basis. I think they're now with the Grace L. Ferguson Airline, Storm Door, and Cell Phone Company.
