Well, Divorce is just one of those...(whips off sunglasses)...facts of life.

"Edna's Edibles" would have been a perfect name for an escort service featuring the girls.

I still can't believe they killed all the hot girls from the first season.

In college I went to bed with a lot of chicks that looked like Blair
I woke up with a lot of chicks that looked like Natalie

I love that late 2nd season episode where Nat stayed behind to lay suppressing fire on the Viet Cong to allow for a safe retreat. But as she returned to the squad, she stepped on a mine killing herself and blinding Tootie.

I'm confused - I thought she and her husband were fundies. Isn't divorce one of the big no-no's?

Jo was gay?

It's been my experience that the majority of people who use words like "fundies" just belive what they've been told about "fundies" without ever actually getting to know any "fundies".

That would be like me using the term "Muzzies" when I've never in life met a Muslim. I only know what I've been told by the right and the left. I just don't think I have enough information to form an opinion.

I didn't realize anyone from that show was still alive.

I'd still love to beat the meat in a Blair/Jo sandwich. As long as Jo leaves the strapon in the drawer. Ah, who am I kidding- after a couple drinks I'd be down with that too.

Fundie divorce is only a no-no when other people do it, and it's because they didn't try hard enough. When it's a personal divorce, it's because things didn't work out.

I get the hypocrisy angle, but it doesn't seem like this lady was preachy. And in the article, she didn't mention her faith once. The reporter did.

She used to be more preachy, but she quieted down over the years since the end of the series.

Wow.
You're really that mis-informed?
Divorce is - in most cases - tough on every one involved and - in most cases - people want their marriages to last.

Being a Christian, or as you try to so disdainfully put it a 'fundie', doesn't preclude getting divorced.

Farking allah, stop being so bigoted.

Nobody said all Christians were Fundies. She's a born-again Christian, not necessarily a Fundie but closer to a Bible-thumper than most Christians.

her dad strongly pushed her into the marriage. she never really loved him the way she felt a wife should love a husband, yet they always got along well. she talked the family into moving back to her homeland of texas to have the kids experience life outside of california, yet as the kids grew to adulthood they all eventually moved back to california. with the kids grown she wanted to make a return to show business, hubby wasn't really happy with that idea.

From what I understand, they had wanted to split for awhile but waited until the last kid was in college/moved out. Big difference than a lot of couples nowadays (especially the Hollywood types) that split while leaving the hospital after childbirth.

The "fundies" I grew up around preached that Jesus didn"t forbid divorce for the right reasons, he only frowned upon "trading up" to this year's model. You could divorce over infidelity. The faithful partner was treated like a widow/er, while the cheater and their new squeeze were destined to burn in Hell, for ever and ever.

You are in the Lisa Welchel inner circle? How does one get in the Lisa Welchel inner circle and does it somehow entitle you access to Tootie?

I'd like to be in Lisa Welchel's inner circle. If by "inner circle" you mean "cervix."

Hey the fundy's don't seem to have much problem sh*tting on every one else for any "mistake" they may make and Welchel herself sure didn't have a problem condemning gay marriage as not meeting Biblical Standards. (In case you haven't read your Bible lately, Jesus specifically addressed the issue of divorce and proclaimed it against God's demands, except in the case of adultery) Matthew 19.

When you proclaim that everyone should be living their lives according to a standard you publicly demand, don't be surprised when those who you put upon, turn around and demand that you live your life to the same standard.

Sorry, I grew up amongst a throng of fundies, for the most part they have no problem proclaiming you a sinner and telling other people how they should be living their lives, but when it comes to their own decisions about doing things that the Bible (and their Lord and Savior) objects to, they are the absolute masters of deflecting blame and playing the "forgiveness" card. (all the while they continue to criticize everyone else.)

That's every belief, or in your case, "non belief". Not everyone's like the group of people you grew up with. Get over your issues and you'll be happier about life. I promise.
