The Bijou Cinema in Eugene, Oregon used to have a resident cat named Boo. She weighed in at 22-lbs, but passed away in 2009. She had her own bed in the lobby area across from the concession stand and loved all the attention she got.

I've got 2 cats, one is a perfectly healthy weight, the other is a porker. They eat the same food, and fatass doesn't like people food at all, so that's not the problem. He's just a cow.

If I fed my cats what they keep clamoring for, they'd be that size. Vet says they're perfect but the song and dance the cats do as soon as I go near the pantry...

Poor cat. Yes it has diabetes. It must. But worse, it will soon be stricken with fatty liver syndrome, which is not pretty.

I wanted an excuse to post this. I always have lots of bird seed out on the patio so lots of birds will come by to give the cats a good show-they love it. I also have a humming bird feeder, and it gets lots of action. I was bored and taped this little keyfob video camera to the cord holding up the feeder and filmed this, kind of cool

Mr. Potatoass: A cat that size could top off a litter box with one dump.

We had a cat that was shaped like a basketball, with a softball-sized head and four stubby little legs.

Yes. Yes it could.

Worst part? He couldn't clean himself. One of the other cats used to do it for him, until my mom got him to stop doing that because you can lick your friends, and you can lick your butt, but you shouldn't lick your friends' butts.

Big fat cat who can't clean himself, no other cats helping him out, see where this is going? For years afterwards, they had to follow him around with a Kleenex and periodically wipe his butt.

He looks bigger than he actually is. He floats between 19 to 21 pounds. We can't get him to lose weight.

He's a fat, needy jerk. He's the BEST.

Heh. My Tub-Tub weighed in at 26 pounds for a long time. He ha measured amounts of food every day, and still managed to maintain the bulk. He was just a lazy fatass. Since he started getting wet food, he's like a different cat. Down to about 10 pounds (took a year to drop 16 pounds) and feisty. Hubby thinks that he's getting his last kicks in, since he's 15. He's like a kitten again.

Also, Caturday thread with so little replies? Is everybody asleep still?

NOPE it's the rare 2 for 1 caturday!

The flea infection in my house is gone, but now I have to deal with finding a new place with 4 cats and a tortoise. :( Finding a house in Toronto that's still convenient commute to work is such a hassle.

I'd rather not downside into an apartment, even a 3 bed would be crowded for 3 adults and 4 cats.

I had to deal with a fly infestation at work that set off another co-worker's and I's allergies, everyone we talk to is passing the buck. In fact my boss called a maintenance guy and he said "How can they be allergic to flies? They're all natural!"

Go roll around in some poison ivy sometime and see what "all natural" gets you.

Isn't that cool. That little camera is so small you can put it anywhere. Ultimately I plan on strapping it to a high-powered model rocket.

Hey guys, what's going on in this thread?

Our "Mike" is currently a svelte 28 pounds. He did tip the scales at 34 pounds, 12 ounces at one time. He was (& is) addicted to dry Meow Mix. We've cut out dry food completely as we've learned it is crap (at least the major brands seem to be) & gets only the stinky wet stuff. I'd add a photo of this old porker but I haven't had a beer yet so don't want to make the effort.

2012-09-22 11:34:08 AM
Wow. I had one at 18 pounds that I thought was HUGE! She'd been starved (stupid owner who thought you didn't have to feed them - they'd just catch mice. In the house) and decided to make up for it. I could not put her on a diet. She'd raid garbage cans, steal and eat loaves of bread, HOWL ALL NIGHT... So I gave up and just let her be a fatass. She lived to 15 anyway.

I don't get it - no way is a stray that fat. Did this kitty get this fat in the shelter?

Check for bladder infection... Some Kittehs get an infection and they associate the litter box with pain. A quick trip to the vet can possibly fix this problem.

Done that, had one once but now it is clearly spraying, always on walls and other vertical surfaces.

CSB- My grandparents had a cat named Louie that weighed in around 43. I recall that was the world record at the time - not sure what it is now and too lazy to look it up. He looked just like this cat. One day he 'ran' through the yard after a squirrel and his belly swayed so much it flipped him on his side!

My current cat is just shy of 20lbs but he is very long and muscular (bengal mix) instead of round. I'll have to dig up pics of the two..

That is too cool. Watch the hummingbird - its wings don't move in the same direction. The bird
looks like it is doing the breaststroke instead of flying!

Used to take my youngest cat Raven around with me when she was a tiny baby. Went into the local pet store to get their food.
Placed Raven on the counter while I was writing out the check...and she promptly went and buried Dat Little FaceTM in the parrot's food that was sitting on the counter. Don't know what was in it, but she was certainly all munch munch munch...

When I was in my mid 20's, my then roommate and I adopted a litter of kittens (5 of 'em):

Byron
Shelley
Keats
Dylan
Louisa Mae (Lucy Mae for short)

Every last one of 'em was nuts for brussel sprouts.

ahh, but the combination of the camera and the hummingbird is quite winning. You say model rocket, my father will say, hat cam for control line flying.
