(Yahoo)   Strolling through the Redskins' player parking lot, one sees a lot of luxury cars. Lexus, BMW, Porsche, Cadillac, and... hey, which one of you jokers is driving the '91 Mazda 626?   (sports.yahoo.com) divider line 60

I wonder if Asomugha took his 1997 Nissan Maxima with him to Philly.

FriarReb98: ha-ha-guy: TheGreatGazoo: If I was one of the players, I'd have something like that as my everyday car. That way I could blend in better and might get some peace and quiet. Hey.. is that ____? Nah, he wouldn't be driving that...

And if some guy is a dick to you, you can amuse yourself by dinging the door of his super car, because hey another dent in a 1991 Mazda? No big deal.

I think the effect of making said dick piss his pants when said player gets out of the car would be worth it too. Especially if it was a D-lineman that got out of a '92 Corolla or something. (Not that D-linemen can fit in early 90s economy cars, but still.)

Back in the '70s Rosy Grier used to drive around in a little tiny Datsun 240Z, was hilarious as hell watching a guy that size get out of the thing

xtragrind: Lee's_Austin: I would love to see this become a trend.

Didn't Joe Flacco drive his grandma's 1980 Volvo for the first year? I remember hearing that the team finally did something to the car so he had to buy a new one.

I wouldn't be surprised, I don't believe he even owned a car in college, he biked around instead.

Mazda shill?

Negative. Haven't driven a Mazda since the hatchback I drove into a tree. Good times.

That's kinda neat.

Like everyone else, I've often wondered what I'd do if and when I came into serious money. Truth be told, I really just want two, maybe three cars and a good-sized house with a garage big enough to hold them and work on them. Even the cars wouldn't be terribly expensive - a daily driver, a Viper (especially the new SRT), and maybe a truck or something to cart stuff around in. The rest of the money? Save some, invest some, get some little things, etc, etc.

CSB: My father-in-law was the COO & President of a very large company about a decade ago. He started out very low and worked his way up to COO. He didn't have a MBA so the board made him get one and installed a temporary COO till he received his MBA. When he retired, his life long dream was ro sail the Caribbean in his own boat. He bought his boat ans is still sailing. However, he sold his house and most of his stuff, bought a 900 square foot (three levels and garage total =900sf) with a boat slip on lake Michigan.

I love going to his place when he gets home and looking at all the cars other people own. Cars I will never be able to afford. He still drives his 1995 honda del sol and his $100 scooter he bought off a local kid and fixed. He is richer then 95% of the people who live there and he looks like a hobo with his beard and long hair now. The guy is kinda my Idol.

/yeah, I know, I already said CSB
//He thinks I'm not good enough for his daughter
///he also thinks I'm a complete idiot
////he is right on both counts

Need a Dispenser Here: I used to own a black one just like it. Total shiatbox. Max non drafting speed of 95 kph and died when you turned left too hard. Still loved her.

Every remembers their first.

First was a 1991 just like that, but in white, with shaggy blue seat covers, bought from my boss' elderly asian gf who had bought it new and driven it like 3K miles a year. Loved the shiat out of that car. Took it to a mechanic a few years ago to get fixed and he said he honestly would not take my money to fix it, to go buy a new car, it was worth that little.

/off-lease CPO 09 Audi is better, but still miss the old girl

There's probably at least one guy on every team who drives a "beater" or what you and I would call a regular car. I've been to the Steelers practice facilities several times over the years and there's always at least one old ass car in the players parking.

Despite what you hear on Fark, not all NFL players are bad with their money or obsessed with rims and bling.

One at a time, ladies.

Except for the dent in the rear quarter, that looks in remarkable shape.

As a fellow Mazda owner (albeit, a much, much newer one) I think I have another NFL player I'm a fan of :D
