In a losing effort, Puyallup quarterback Brendon Illies passed for 396 yards, and rushed for 176. His 572 total yards erased the SPSL record of 497, set by Kent-Meridian's David Jones in 2010 against Tahoma.

Still impressive, but not as impressive as 527 running yards the headline claims....wait, just noticed that subby's math is also wrong.

And to be fair to subby, the article had it wrong first (clicked on the link about the QBs yardage to see actual stats).

College and HS are a little different, but passing for 400+ yards in the NFL is usually indicative of a losing effort.

The 643 yards and ten TDs for Tyner story was much more impressive.

They are in Washington, they must have been watching UW's defense for the last couple years.

Passing yardage isn't a good indicator of winning, even in Arena Football, where they rarely run even if ahead a million points (running clock for all but the last minute of each half - why bother running?)

I wonder how YPA correlates with winning
