Thank you RGIII for letting the rest of the NFL know this gets under your skin. Saw some of the replays. Looked pretty chippy, but nothing blatantly cheap (if that makes sense).

I'm excited for RG3 to go full-Vick and claim that he's not getting any calls because he's black, or something.

There are dirty rumours that some teams give financial incentives to offensive players to score points against defensive players. Some even say Defensive players have even suffered injuries as a result of this. This game will be all about money in no time at all if that's true.

If he has a pulse the Saints could probably use him on defense.

Is it really the "Luck over RG3 pick" when every team in the league would have taken Luck first? This isn't like Williams over Bush or something.

Given that the Rams are down to third team O-lineman, and everyone on the Bears has a huge chip on their shoulders due to the Packers game, I think we are looking at a SuperFans type score of

Da Bears 78 Rams 2

on Sunday.

Book it, done.

Yeah, but I mean, it was at least a choice. Since Al Davis is dead no one would have taken RG3 over Luck.

Also Williams over Bush was the right pick IMO - at this point they're both past their rookie contracts and playing for different teams anyway.

Considering the average lifespan of a RB, and how the Saints ended up using Bush, you're right. Williams was probably the better choice.

Bush getting this revival in Miami is a surprise. I'd left him on the trash heap two years ago. Now I've had him in both my fantasy leagues for 2 consecutive years and think he's the bees knees.

Just like NFL refs, you're penalizing the guy who responded to the initial foul.

Kind of unfair to blame Bush, though. It's not like the Saints use RBs as a typical RB - whenever Bush did get 20 carries in a game, he did pretty well. It's just that it's kinda tough to get going and be consistent when you're only given 6-10 carries/game. It's entirely possible that had Bush gone to Houston, he could've been dominant. (though still, an RB doesn't matter as much as other positions and shouldn't be taken so high).

His name is the only name of a professional athlete I can remember because of sheer douchebaggery instead of skill or accomplishment.

2012-09-21 01:58:13 PM
I'm surprised at this. Considering the number of times the Rams players were up in RGIII's facemask after a play was over, you'd think they were trying to kiss the guy.

2012-09-21 01:58:40 PM
Here's the deal: The Rams were extremely chippy from the word "go" in that game. They tested the replacement refs early (a week after the league news was "oh noes, incompetent replacement refs threw waaaay too many flags". So the Rams smartly tested the waters, and the refs showed, early on, that they had no inclination to flag personal fouls.

The Rams, to their credit, used this to the best of their advantage. Were they dirty? Yeah. But this was going to be an effective strategy until the officials proved otherwise, which they never did. The Redskins never really figured this out/adjusted to it.

So for the "welcome to fark/NFL" crowd I have some advice: Don't watch the game, don't catch the highlights, read the headline, don't read the article, post a picture of James Vanderbeek, and then go back to the politics tab where it's a little less obvious you didn't absorb the source material.

2012-09-21 02:01:47 PM
I'm not sure what the problem is here. He said that he felt that they took some cheap shots and that they wanted to get into his head. As far as i know, the goal of every defensive lineman/linebacker is to get to the quarterback and rattle them. It's not exactly secret knowledge into his mental weaknesses. I'm pretty sure it has been shown that he has been adept at performing in close games, despite the pressure that the defense has put on him.

//RG3 for president.

Not really a fair comparison until Luck gets to face the non-existent Saints defense. The Colts DO have the advantage of not trading away multiple picks for Luck, which is probably why some Redskins fans are desperate to win this little comparison.

That was a dirty game and the refs had no control over it. There were fights after each play. It was probably the worst officiated game I have ever seen.

And the Rams have Cortland Finnegan, the consensus pick as dirtiest player in the NFL.

good job new guy. You just let every defense in the world know how to rustle your jimmies. 2 games in you don't get to call 'unprofessional' on anything. A lack of mental toughness here. Expect those jimmies to get more and more rustled this year.

Like i said before, hitting a quarterback isn't exactly a super secret weakness. No one likes being hit, esp after the play. He indicated that it bugs him, but that's football. The difference is that he said it out loud, and every other qb just thought it.

Good point. Buddy, that was your first game against a professional defense. How would you know what professional is?
