Probably because they wanted them to start making the Kindle cheaper, possibly by firing the teenagers in China and switching to pre-pub's.

According to Publisher's Weekly, Walmart is the 4th largest US book retailer, behind Amazon, Barnes&Noble, and 'independent'. They sell a lot of books.


How many of those are romance novels and "LIBS ARE TEH SUCK" political books?

I barely ever use my actual kindle anymore. I just use their cloud reader through my web browser. I know some people don't like to read something like a book off their computer screen, but I have no problem. It's more convenient.
