Sandusky isn't bright enough to orchestrate a network like this on his own. He's the scapegoat for a large ring of people IMHO. He's always had the attitude that he would get off (heh) on these charges, as if he's waiting for his friends to bail him out. This is all just coming to a head.

Real justice would be everyone who ever covered up for Sandusky or looked the other way also going to jail. Until enablers are dealt with -- harshly -- nothing will stop.

Unfortunately, I suspect that you're right. Sexual exploitation of children is an extremely tight-knit circle and the kingpins successfully hide behind layers of protection.

the letter

1977-1980 I was a child prostitute associated with a tri-state (NYC-NJ-PA) pedophile ring that included Phil Foglietta, Ed Savitz, Lawrence Scott Ward, Bill Conlin, Sam Rappaport & Jerry Sandusky. Summer of 1979 I was brought to the State College PA area by Ed Savitz for the purpose of child prostitution with Jerry Sandusky at a Second Mile fundraiser, due to time constraints Sandusky became unavailable and I was introduced to Phil Foglietta by Ed Savitz & Jerry Sandusky, "Foglietta was introduced to us as Coach Phil who coached youth football in NYC.

Foglietta agreed to pay $200.00 for child sex and followed us back to a Philadelphia hotel from the State College area, myself ad another child prostitute then engaged coach Phil in child sex. Previously knowing his name I had recognized Coach Phil from previous 1978-1979 times while I was a runaway youth hanging in the NYC Times Square red light porn district, Coach Phil would ask runaway adolescent boys if they wanted to make a few extra $$ to go into a peep show viewing booth with him and watch a porn movie and engage in oral sex.

I am currently cooperating with a federal investigation involving the FBI & US Postal Inspectors regarding the Jerry Sandusky pedophile ring and child pornography which also now includes Phil Foglietta.

Jeezus Christ. There needs to be a nationwide purge of college football programs. I'm just nauseous at how they were used to propagate this.

Colleges involved need to have their football program suspended for a couple seasons at the very least.

This was a story Mark Madden brought up last year on his radio show. They guy has always been labelled a nut job in sports and wrestling (under the entertainment tab?)

But Madden was one of the first to publicly bring up Sandusky and the child rapings before it became national news. So he was right on this one again.

Hmm...makes you wonder where that morbidly obese man is getting his news from.

For starters, they should be auditing The Second Mile and following the money trail in and out of Penn State.

They need to reopen Ray Gricar's "suicide" case

They need to start asking questions about Joe Paterno's finances.

Sadly none of this is going to happen. They have their goat, admittedly a really guilty one, and thats that, done and dusted. Lone Gunman.

Regularly? All the time? Every year? How are the hockey scandals compared to the general population? How are the football scandals compared to the general population? How many broom handles up butts do you know of in the general population? How many at McGill?

Generation_D: They need to reopen Ray Gricar's "suicide" case

In April 2009, Bellefonte police revealed that before his disappearance, someone had used the home computer at Gricar's residence to perform internet searches on topics such as "how to wreck a hard drive", "how to fry a hard drive" and "water damage to a notebook computer".

That is some Casey Anthony-like coincidental evidence.

Methinks shenanigans involving the prostitution ring came into play, so he went underground.

I always think it is weird when people conspire for these type of heinous crimes. Like how does the conversations start? At what point do two guys start chatting about "hey would you like me to bring some kid over for sex?" I mean I guess maybe their pedo smile gives it away or something, but it still seems odd -- too risky to approach people about.

I guess with pedos they are turned on by the taboo thrill aspect, so soliciting others to join them must be part of the risky behavior that drives them.

Same thing when I hear about two people participating in serial killing and other heinous crimes. I understand how people might conspire to commit financial crimes but planning to cannibalize, random sniping, brutal home invasions, etc.?

flynn80: Still nothing new on the DA who pulled a Houdini?

Decleared dead last year. I posted a piece I pulled off the web. Apparently just before he disappeared, someone searched on his home PC on the web for ways to destroy a hard drive and waterlogging a laptop. Coincidentally, when they found his laptop in the river, the hard drive was missing.

As for how high this goes...it's obvious it's VERY high, and that 1994 Discovery channel documentary is very interesting.

I was talking to one of my staffers about this a little while ago. Don't be surprised to hear about Sandusky getting got in prison if these government officials that are involved in said ring start worrying he might give up some names.

The key word in your original post was "never," as in "Strange, I never hear about abuse in baseball or hockey."

I never made (and do not now make) any statement as to which sport is more rapey.

So calm down and come on down off of your high horse.

This is interesting. Sick, but interesting. The more digging is done, the bigger this gets, and the higher it goes. This is way bigger than PSU football, way bigger than even the university as a whole and it just seems to get bigger all the time. Ol' Jerry and the SNAFU at Penn State just was the weak link that broke and split the whole thing open. I wouldn't be surprised if there were other universities involved in this, as well as numerous businesses and charities. PSU was just the first domino to fall.

"(Between) 1977-1980 I was a child prostitute associated with a tri-state (NYC-NJ-PA) pedophile ring. (During the) summer of 1979 I was brought to the State College area by Ed Savitz for the purpose of child prostitution with Jerry Sandusky at a Second Mile fundraiser," Bucceroni wrote in the email. "Due to time constraints, Sandusky became unavailable and I was introduced to Phil Foglietta by Ed Savitz & Jerry Sandusky. Foglietta was introduced to us as Coach Phil who coached youth football in NYC. Foglietta agreed to pay $200.00 for child sex and followed us back to a Philadelphia hotel, myself (sic)ad another child prostitute then engaged coach Phil in child sex."

A spokeswoman for the school said Poly Prep had no comment on Bucceroni's email.

In a series of interviews, Bucceroni told the Daily News that Savitz and Sandusky knew each other through Second Mile, political fund-raising and sports events. Bucceroni said his stepfather completed paperwork for the boy, then 16, to be enrolled in Second Mile in 1980 and that Bucceroni and Savitz delivered it to Sandusky, but that an altercation between Bucceroni and Savitz that same year destroyed any chances of him being accepted.

Okay, a word or two about semantics: This is not "child prostitution", nor is it about pedophilia. A man who is going after 15 year-old boys is not a pedophile, he is a homosexual predator. This is gay sex slavery, pure and simple.

It's crap like this that is the reason homosexuals are treated the way they are in this country. Any culture that encourages the abuse of younger men by older men is going to be frowned upon.

Mouser: "(Between) 1977-1980 I was a child prostitute associated with a tri-state (NYC-NJ-PA) pedophile ring.

Further semantics: this is not pedophilia. Pedophilia refers to sexual attraction to those who have not undergone puberty. This is ephebophilia, sexual attraction to a post-pubescent underage person. Sandusky's case is pedophilia- as there is little chance a 8-10 year old boy would be post-pubescent- and these are ephebophilia.
