The Onion should just do one issue before the election, where they quote, verbatim, news articles from the past year.

Meta-satire.

Ain't that the truth,subby....

2012-09-20 03:56:57 PM
I contend that no one is voting for Romney. They're either voting against Obama or voting along party lines. This is sad.

2012-09-20 03:57:55 PM
The Romney campaign is retooling its strategy to increase turnout in the still-competitive "Who's running again? I don't know much about politics" demographic.

You do know Borowitz is a satire column, right?

Yep. The Onion sprang quickly to mind. "Area Man Supportive of What He Believes Romney To Be."

Mr. Romney garnered positive ratings among voters who agreed with the statement, "I have never seen Mitt Romney say or do anything." "I hate that uppity President"

Well played, Fark.

Not only is it believable, it is probably true.

Yeah, Borowitz was makin' up some facts, but real studies have shown that the better you know Romney, the less likely you are to 'approve' of him.

47 days is plenty of time for every voter to get to know Willard well enough to despise him.

Diogenes: Victim of Poe's Law once again.

What's really sad is that is so damn hard to tell where that line is anymore.
The Republicans seem determined to blur the line between what they actually say and do, and simple pure satire.

Romney's problems are solved.

He should do his remaining appearances, including the debates, in charades.

I'm pretty politically plugged-in and there's a LOT of politicians whose voices I've never heard and whose faces I don't know. Even some very well-known ones I didn't even know what they looked like until recently. I still consider myself well-informed, I just don't value hearing their voice or seeing their face.

I'm OK with Washington DC being "Hollywood for ugly people." It's what these people DO that affects my life, not what they look or sound like.

I for one, firmly believe Romney does well with people that habitually make uninformed decisions.

I thought Boehner was pronounced "Boner" until I had a discussion with a teabagger relative about a year ago. Then after being accused of name-calling, and explaining I get almost all my news by reading, I was dismissed as uninformed because I don't watch the "mainstream MSM media;" as in the same "mainstream MSM media" that this dumbshiat had just been railing against. Everything I said after that was responded to with an iteration of "HUURRRR. You don't even know the Speaker of the House's name. Why should I listen to anything you have to say about him. DUURRR. Soshulizm. HERRPP."

/You don't get to chose your family.

Why? That post is brilliant! It fits in this thread better than anything else. All it needs to be the most perfect post in any thread is Guile's theme.

//Jesus Christ would approve of that message (or at least the Jesus that most American Christians claim to worship and the Jesus that most American non-Christians wish those Christians WOULD worship)

That's what I thought as well... it beautifully fits into so many topics. I especially like how the angry mob kicked out the guy for not sharing their views... perfect metaphor for the moderates.
