Don't worry. Marcy Kaptur is the senior ranking female House Rep. She campaigns very well. In fact the main reason idiots vote against her is because she's a Democrat. She's done very well for NW Ohio and I wish the Kasichsuckers hadn't re-drawn me out of her district. Her office was always pleasant to deal with and she was minimal on the rhetoric. The idiot I have now, Bob Latta, went from center-right moderate to derpy Tea Tard to get the moron vote. Not happy about that.

Joe's fame is gone and nobody with half a brain likes him. Plus he stumped for Puppy Mills in Missouri which I make sure to mention all the time. In fact, I'm going to post it right now on Facebook.

I watched this joker on the tube one day. His pitch was that he wasn't really all that knowledgeable, but that he was a plumber, so he knew how to fix things. And that's what our government needs right now. So we should hope he wins.

I could tell from that logic alone what party he belonged to.

publikenemy: Gawdzila: publikenemy: Just remember, while 97% of farkers agree with you and the rest who are arguing with me, only about 50% of the country is with you.

Well, at least 50% of the country are ill-informed morons too, so that's just about as expected.

You don't think we say the EXACT same thing about you? It's just a fundamental difference..a divide that will never be bridged IMO. I am definitely socially liberal, but fiscally I happen to be of the opinion that we are royally farking up. The left has painted a conservative as an absolute..conservative about anything and everything, and that's just not so with most. It's playground politics at its worst, and it's working for the left...a dissenting voice?..racist. Hey, it works. Obama has divided this country like never before...honestly, I have never seen this country at odds with each other as much as today, and it's sickening.

Yes, it's the left painting the right as a bunch of reactionaries on social issues. Let's go with that.

publikenemy: Just answer me one question..how did that stimulus package work? We were promised..PROMISED! An under 6% unemployment rate.."if we just pass this bill now!".. How'd that little slice of socialism work out for you eh? We are still well over 8% and our debt is ridiculous...anyone? I'm waiting, but there is no way to defend it, so I'm sure I'll just get the standard "you are a racist" card

No, the answer is that it DID work. 6% was optimistic, to be sure, but it has created jobs and unemployment would have been worse without it.
The market is back up, and although we're not back to rolling in the dough, to write it off as completely ineffective is to woefully underestimate the severity of the recession we could have had. With banks failing, some of our largest manufacturing businesses staring at bankruptcy, and tons of jobless people with upside-down home loans (and therefore no disposable income), it is a wonder we're doing as well as we are.

Conservatives want to try and cut the deficit by cutting the sort of programs that were instituted in the stimulus in order to "balance the budget", but this ignores one of the basic tenets of business: You have to spend money to make money. The country is not run on a household budget. Our GDP is tied to the money we spend, unlike your common household which has the same income no matter how much they spend on food or frivolities. We need to use money to stimulate job creation, so that people will not only make more money that they can spend to bring the economy back up to speed, but we can once again start manufacturing useful things that other countries might want, thus decreasing our huge trade deficit. Tightening our belts more and more just isn't going to work.

stonicus: I can't speak for others, but I am in favor of a mix of socialism and capitalism. Socialism for necessities, capitalism for luxuries...

Seconded. Market Socialism FTW.

publikenemy: Seriously, wtf is wrong with you all? Most here seem well educated so I just don't understand it.

You don't understand it because you don't actually consider the arguments being made, you just assume that any policy you deem socialist is stupid, was invented by stupid people, and couldn't possibly work.

publikenemy: You are for socialism in America?

Are you under the impression that we have no socialism? Every country in the world is socialist to some degree. Any social program that is run with money collected from taxpayers can be considered socialist -- public schools, the Postal Service, National Parks, the Military (including the DoD and Veterans benefits), Social Security and Medicare for old people who can't work anymore... and those are just a few.

publikenemy: It doesn't work! Have we not learned from numerous examples?

Yes, like Sweden, which has very low crime, highly educated (free college), high life expectancy (universal health care), and a high quality of living?
Most of Northern Europe does, actually, and they're all under a Market Socialist system. And you're telling me that it doesn't work? LOL. The when you can sound reasonable with just some wharrgarbl over Mao's China, or the USSR as examples of Evil Socialism are long past. We have examples of highly socialist countries that work extremely well.

publikenemy: Obama has undeniably stated that he if for redistribution. Is this what you want? Honest question.

We already have redistribution. It's called taxes. Practically every nation in the world has them (excepting places like Somalia), and so have we since the inception of our country.

And yes, that is what I want. When everyone contributes to common goals we can accomplish things that we cannot do as a collection of individuals who are out for ourselves. I don't need to hoard everything for myself, I'm not a selfish bastard. I am happy to give when I have plenty in case there comes a day when I don't.

publikenemy: Why would you want a socialist country? Seriously, why?

Because it ensures that you have certain necessities, even if you fall on hard times. It is more equitable. It raises up the whole of society (if maybe not as high as the 1% here), instead of stratefying the upper and lower class by design.

publikenemy: Wow..I'm done. You are so incredibly stupid that I can't wrap my head around it. Go ahead, have your socialism and get back to me in 10 years. I weep for the death of America as I have known it.

LOL. I guess when you don't have facts or arguments you can always just facepalm and make fun of the other guy to make yourself sound superior. If the "America as you have known it" is the America where business owners can get rich by risking everyone's financial well-being and giving irresponsible loans, or shipping everyone's jobs to India and China, then I welcome it.

Your sort exalts Capitalism as a religion, refusing to acknowledge that it has inevitable pitfalls that any responsible government NEEDS to fix. Capitalism is a force of human nature, not a type of government. It needs to be reigned in, harnessed, and directed, so that it doesn't trample the people who depend on it.

I'm sorry, do you have some argument with the data I presented? Can you find some quality of life metric that them evil socialist countries do worse than we do?

Health care indexes? Longevity? Education?

Anything where we actually are #1? Except perhaps Jingoism? That, and weapons, seem to be our number one import.

You keep on living in your fantasy land, dude. I'm going to keep working to make America a better place, and that means SOCIALIZMZZZ!!!!!!

There you go wanting to keep a small business owner down just because you have this thing called ethics. You should fully support keeping animals in cages no bigger than their body 24/7 without food/water and live in disgusting filth. He just wants to treat us like the dog in the bottom cage and have the golden stuff trickle down to us.

If we just followed his example we all be imaginary business owners making a bazillion dollars and be happy with our station in life.

I know, I'm a CommisocialistNazi0bama lover who wants to stick it to the job creators and allow Welfare Queens to purchase puppies from their food stamp checks. DAMN ME!
