Two years ago we got nfl-leading interceptions Eli, last year we got 4th-quarter TDs Eli. This year, we get both.

1st half Eli vs. 2nd half Eli... gonna be quite a battle.

Wooooooo! Panthers! Wooooooo!

With the recievers the Panthers have this year (not to mention Cam, Stewart, and Williams running the ball), and the half-assed pass defense the Giants have been putting up, this isn't even going to be a contest!

wow, opened at Gaints -2.5 and is now Panthers -2.5. 5 point swing in 4 days, whereas if you look at all this week's lines, you generally see a few variances (chicago rams went from chicago -10 to chicago -7.5) or some have 1 point but the favorite never changes.

something is going on we don't know about, i would have picked panthers outright but that info seals it.

All the news out of Giants camp is how banged up they are. Bradshaw, Hixon and Nicks are all out.

When you look at the stats through two games, I can see why a lot of people would go with the Panthers. Giants are 22nd in the league against the pass & only Washington has allowed more TD passes, while Eli has been anywhere from mediocre through awful in 6 of the 8 quarters he's played so far. I personally think the Giants pull it off (prime time game, defending champs, etc) but based on the way the first two weeks have gone I can absolutely see Carolina being favored.

/5 point swing in a short week is pretty much unheard of though, true?

i really can't say because i don't typically follow opening/closing variances but......yeah, 5 points in 4 days just sounds odd as fark. and aside from just the sheer number -- 5 -- to completely switch on who's favored is nutty. i could understnad, you know, a 49ers v KC line going from say, 11 to 5.5 based upon a key injury or whatever, but.....to completely switch the favorite? very odd.

Kinda thinking of going to AZ/PHI. Wonder how much tickets are. My parents could babysit and the wife wsa asking what games are like. Humm.....That house will be bumpin.

If you didn't see, not only does Yahoo give us recaps "post-game" in fantasy, but they are also doing final season projections AND power rankings. Since Fark loves a good power rankings setup, here's the Drew's Fantasy Talents league:
1 thevza
2 Flamewar Veterans
3 Dunno What I'm Doin
4 The Rudemix
5 Sam
6 Slider Adjusters
7 Touchdown My Pants
8 Peyton's Neck
9 RandyTravis AllStars
10 Downing's Placeholde

I'm 1-1 with a terrible power ranking and went from projected in the playoffs at draft day to 6-7 now.

Fantasy Advice, Quick! I have Ray Rice, Jamaal Charles, Michael Bush, and DeAngelo Williams to choose from this week. Currently starting Rice and Charles with Bush in flex... Do I make a last minute switch and start Mike over Jamaal with DeAngelo in flex, or is this too dangerous a matchup for the Panther RB committee?

Brandon LaFell is also on my bench, but I'm not willing to start him over Julio Jones or Brandon Lloyd (flex still optional)

Glad I'm not the only one. He might be the only talking announcing head that intersperses some actual football knowledge into his announcing. So refreshing after listening to Troy Aikman or Dierdorf call a game, who were great players but are shiatty announcers.

As for tonight, I like the match up. I think of the Giants as the NFC version of the Steelers (stable, family owned, historically respected and successful) and I like Eli. But I also follow the Panthers since they are my "home" team and I get tons of coverage of them. I think the Panthers win tonight, Giants are banged up and this is a big game for the Panthers.

I don't see how the giants win this game. Maybe due to ref chicanery? Elsewise, teams on the road on Thursday night almost always get beat. I feel like Carolina would likely win on a Sunday anyway so there's no way I can take them here. This game will likely be extremely sloppy as Thursday games tend to be + we have the added fun of scab refs. It'll be a miracle if this game is over by 1am

Dear NFL network,

If you're going to run a story comparing Cam Newton to Isaac Newton, and you want to show the gravitational force formula on your graphics, make sure you actually know what a farking EXPONENT is. d2 is not the same as "d2".

Yes it is. And 277 yards for Eli is not big deal, given he's one of only 5 quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for at least 4,000 yards in three consecutive seasons.

Anyone heard a yes/no on whether Turner will be suspended? I have about a half hour to decide if I should replace him with Deangelo Williams on my fantasy team for my matchup vs a co-worker this weekend and I'm being terribly indecisive.
