When republicans fight, the grass loses?

Dadoody: Let's keep focusing on the fact that Romney might have been right but didn't paint a complete picture from some talk he gave VS Obama actually doing things that make his administration opaque, circumvents the spirit of the Bill of Rights and US Constitution, spent billions on subsidies for companies that fail within 1 year of operation (how the hell do some of these companies lose half a billion within a year), allow wall street thieves who illegally raided customer accounts and lost their money to walk free and continue on (Corazine), while going after people who expose US war crimes (Assange)

I will agree with you that most of those things happened and that they are bad. Please tell me, however, what you think Rmoney would have done differently? As far as I can tell, he would have given the crooked bankers a tax cut, taken the government subsidies away from "green" companies and handed them over to oil companies and/or military contractors, and would support even more draconian Bill of Rights violations. I really don't like Obama, but Romney flat-out scares the hell out of me. Oh, and anyone who makes over $20 million per year, pays a lower tax rate than I do, then pisses and moans and whines and cries about his own taxes being too high and what a freeloader I am can kiss the fattest, hairiest, sweatiest part of my ass.

So this is how the Republican party ends... by eating its own.

Surool: So this is how the Republican party ends... by eating its own.

The GOP has always eaten its own. It's a tradition. The Democrats are more into recrimination.

I'm very much enjoying seeing Mitt's campaign derail. The guy is a phony and a tool. Not an ordinary hand tool, but an enormous industrial tool.

Obama is alright. I'll keep him for another four.

What worries me is what the GOP will do in 2016. Since a moderate failed this time, we might get Bachmann or some other True Believer crank.

Nana's Vibrator: It's becoming obvious Republicans don't want this election either. Since they know it's a very unpopular move to start another war in the next 4 years, since they know they can't fix an economy, and as long as they hold enough seats to keep Obamacare and other big changes back, they'll be better off sitting back and pointing fingers for the next 4 years.

It won't take that long. Between the Euro crashing and burning, the Middle East going up in flames, China's housing marking imploding, and our own crippling debt, the US economy will tank by 2013, 2014 at the latest. And who better to hold the bag than Obama?

Enjoy this election, Democrats. It'll be the last one you'll win for a long, long time.

ringersol: God-is-a-Taco: "Just another "Damn him for saying it outloud" Akin-like moment."

Yeah, no.
The bottom of the ticket often grumbles in private about the top of the ticket not helping.
But this is no off-the-cuff remark. This was a conscious decision to flip off the party and get the fark away from the top of the ticket, damn the intraparty consequences.

The positions of power are different, but Romney didn't say anything different from their own stances.
The Republicans are not big fans of social services for the needy and the contempt they have for the poor and ill is only moderately masked.
The only problem is that they need those lesser humans to vote for them and this particular event might steer away almost 5 people from the Republican Party.

I really don't think it's different from Akin.

Are you trying to say Romney is going to fix all these things that concern you so? Really? Then why are you voting for him?

Who the FARK said I'm voting for Romney? I'm just saying that you idiots love focusing on chatter rather than action. Obama's in a position of action right now, and has been making all the worst moves. From his voting history, Romney would be no better, but farking idiot Americans can't break out of this moronic 2 party system mentality wherein we elect a candidate based on pretty speeches rather than people who are of actual benefit to the country.

Obama and Romney are both bad for the country, but main problem with our country is our large population of idiot voters.

So you're in favour of world-wide strife and misery, which will impact hundreds of millions of your countrymen and which you acknowledge in your statement won't be the fault of Obama, as long as the outcome is that a Democrat isn't President any more? I'm more American than you apparently.

The world-wide strife and misery will be happening regardless. If the facade falls apart on Obama's watch, we can at least let the people who devoted their lives to building it take the blame.

/kind of like letting Neville Chamberlain negotiate "Peace in our Time" instead of trying to overthrow the whole House of Lords
//war will devastate Europe anyhow, but at least the dishonorable can get stuck with the dishonor
