What the story doesn't tell you is that the size 9 bus driver gave his shoes to a size 12 homeless guy. Because he's just that big of a prick.

FTFA: Now, a homeless man will have shoes for his feet because of a bus driver's random act of kindness.

Not bad for a Tuesday morning in downtown Winnipeg.

By Tuesday evening, the homeless man had sold the shoes so he could buy some booze.

How did he know his shoes were the right size?

Somewhere, there is a company bureaucrat who is considering firing the bus driver for delaying the bus and driving without shoes.

Waiting for the followup story "Homeless man suing philanthropist bus driver for necrotic foot fungus transmitted in shoes."

Mock26: Not the same, but I was once on one of the city busses here in Chicago and the bus stopped at an intersection where all four corners were under construction. The person who pulled the cord to get off was blind and asked the bus driver where he could catch the cross street bus. The bus driver said it was just across the street to the North, but he then told the guy to sit back down. After the light changed the bus pulled through the intersection, the driver stopped, and he then got off the bus and walked the blind man through the maze of planks and cones and safety tape to the bench where he could wait for his transfer. Some guy sitting behind me was grumbling about being late for something or other. When the bus driver got back on he said loudly, "I should report you to your supervisor." The bus driver smiled and said, "Go ahead." At that point I said, loudly, "I think I will write to your supervisor, too, and tell him what a great job you did." And, I did. Before I got off the bus I took down his badge number and sent a letter to the head of the Chicago Transit Authority. I got back a very nice letter from some high level official thanking me for complimenting the driver and letting me know that they would forward along my praise. The driver later sent me a Starbucks gift card.

Why does the majority of GOOD news come out of Chica...wait.

5 minutes later he pawned the shoes for a pint of MD 20/20 and a crack rock.

CarnySaur: So did the bus driver finish driving the route without any shoes?

Presumably, yes. In addition to serin1's follow-up, another one could be Health Canada issuing notice to the driver for operating without shoes and exiting into the street without a reflective vest.

Every time I think of Canadian buses I think of that guy getting decapitated and mutilated in front of a bus full of Canucks.
