shower_in_my_socks: Does the Rmoney ad mention that coal jobs have INCREASED under President Obama, or is Mittens lying to the American people yet again?

Do you have a number on that? I would like to see it.

Though the news here lately is not the best with Alpha closing 8 mines and laying off 1200. Just the nature of the buisness. Most mining jobs are going great guns. In fact, graduates from the South Dakota School of Mines can expect to make more than Harvard graduates.

DownDaRiver: Earlier this year Obama went to Ohio to give a speech touting his jobs creation package that "he" created.
Approx 50 construction workers at a job site and another 20 or so at a road construction project lost a days pay when both sites were shut down for the day because they were close to where he was speaking.

Even if they lost a days pay, which is doubtful, that's a peripheral effect due to security concerns.
To pretend that it's that same thing as coercing attendance as the primary audience, with no compensation I might add, is dishonest at best.
As stated above, cite it.

Guess noone bothered to read the entire firkin article:

Murray (THE OWNER OF THE MINE), in an interview in Tampa, Fla., said "nobody was ordered to attend" the rally. "Nobody knows who attended and who didn't. But I can tell you this: We had 3,000 people there, it was a great day, our people enjoyed it. Barack Obama is destroying their lives, their livelihoods. These people are scared, and they came out in droves to see Mitt Romney and that's what it was all about."

This would make a good counter ad.

[Slow-mo shot of the rally, zoom in on Romney's face]

Standard female attack ad narrator: Mitt Romney says he wants to help people work, but what will he actually do? When he needed people at one of his rallies, he had coal miners shipped into his rally. They were docked a day's pay. When asked about it, their boss said

What part of "mandatory" do you not farking understand? Are you really proud of this kind of intellectual dishonesty? You're not a stupid person, I've seen you make sense before. How can you honestly say 600 people being forced to attend a political rally and have their likeness exploited by a political candidate is the same as 30 people not getting paid for work stoppage, but not forced to attend a political rally and not forced to be exploited for political gain? Do you think that anyone is swayed by such blatant partisan idiocy? You should really be ashamed of yourself if you're even capable of feeling shame. Honestly, no one with an ounce of self-respect or integrity would stoke the fires of cognitive dissonance with such willful stupidity. You are not a good person.

Uh, since when is Israel our "largest ally in the Mid East"? In terms of land area, hence "largest", that is probably Saudi Arabia.

They are a small nation that spies on us (Jonathan Pollard), fires on our warships (USS Liberty) and we tend to suck up to them because its politically expedient to placate them for the good of the Jewish and Evangelical Christian populations in the US, not because it's actually sound foreign policy.

They oppress people in their own country because of their religion & ethnicity (Palestinians) on top of it all.

Good for our President for not kowtowing to them. While I wish no ill upon the Jewish people, I think the Government of the State of Israel sucks, and we're better off in terms of foreign policy telling Israel to take a hike. Makes us a lot more friends over there if we're not constantly chummy with the most hated bully on the block.

Shaggy_C: Obama's visit will focus on the groundbreaking of a road project funded by federal stimulus dollars, but not everyone is anticipating his trip, 10TV's Lindsey Seavert reported on Thursday.

The U.S. Secret Service has stopped a nearby construction project at Nationwide Children's Hospital, meaning the workers will not be on the site and will lose a day of pay.

"I am glad the president's coming but I sure would like to make that money tomorrow," said George Harrison, a construction worker.

Laborers with the Local No. 423 union said the Secret Service shut down the Turner Construction site to protect Obama.

"The bosses told us we weren't working because the president is coming, and we are wondering why," Harrison said. "That's $200 we are missing out on. Everybody needs to eat right?"

While this general statement is fine as a concept, you need to balance this with the energy sources you have avaliable. No matter what you use, whether it be solar, hydro, wind or geothermal, there are distinct drawbacks.

I know that it is cliche, but there is no such thing as a free lunch.
