of all the things in NJ to photograph, they pic a temporary fair in Giants Stadium parking lot? At least they did go cliche with an AC pic, but what about a flooded cranberry field, those are kinda cool.

Even worse, off all of the beauty and variety that California has to offer, they photograph some kid at a Dodgers game. The farking Dodgers, fer Chrissake, the very worst thing about California, and that's what they show! I'd have preferred that they show downtown Bakersfield, or an oil refinery, or a garbage dump, or damn near anything else rather than something relating to the goddamn Dodgers and their "fans."

at least you could tell it was California from the picture. NJ just had some nitwits in a portable carnival ride that has probably been in fairgrounds all up and down the east coast.

Oklahoma had a girl throwing a rope around a stool.

Yee-haawww.

What a crappy assortment of photos.

As someone who drove through both the Ramapo Mountains and downtown Paterson today, I agree.

While I'm okay with the worship of Boston & Plymouth, every now and then it'd be cool if the outside world noticed the other 349 cities and towns in this state.

\knew the RI one would involve the races last month

Won't complain about Virginia's picture considering I was expecting something to do with the Confederacy. I would say that there were around 10 states fairly represented, another dozen or so playing to stereotypes and the rest were anywhere from 'meh' to trash.

I always get the impression that the rest of Massachusetts is 'there be dragons' type land.

That movie scared the fark out of me as a kid. We watched it in 6th grade in history, and we ran out of time right after the nukes went off everywhere. Never watched past that the first time and I've always been a little too stuck on stuff like that because of that. Your mind shouldn't wander to nuclear war, but mine does.

Yeah, this is a pretty bizarre assortment. The Oklahoma one at least went with the image of the state. NY had Macy's fireworks... but some others.....

Mexican cowboys = Illinois?
Blow your NASCAR photo on Delaware?
Your Indiana photo is from Gary, which might as well be Eastern Chicago, IL.?

Minnesota's picture is a farking interstate sign. You know, the same interstate sign that exists in every state down to Texas.

But wait! This one has scratches from when the bridge fell down. Guess what? I have pictures of the smoking bridge. Suck on that street sign.

I was thinking of hiking up Mt. Pilchuck this Friday but then I realized I would need to buy one of those fancy ass $30 permits just to park my car. I think I'll spend the day looking your pics instead.

Not 50 States in 50 pics. None of those were representative. That was 50 pictures taken in 50 different places.

/My home state's was pretty representative... Unfortunately.

It wasn't even a good KC skyline image.
Bleh. Anyway.

Some of those sucked. My state's pic was pretty cool, though. Good representation of what Alabama is to me: muffin tops, white sand, pretty sunsets and beautiful wildlife. Dauphin Island is one of my favorite places.

Hey could be worse. I was waiting for an awesome mountain scape, potentially at sunrise or sunset for Colorado's picture, not a memorial in Aurora.

I could go for some of that Kentucky.

Worse, Mexican Cowboys in the Confederacy part (the areas south of Kankakee).

The picture from Oregon was nice. I think California should have had a picture from Redwood National Park, though. The waterfall at the end of the Boy Scout Trail, for example.

Show a donkey pump at an oilwell in N. Dakota? weak. While I am from Saskatchewan (Canadian province right on top of them) it is a pretty State. Surely there are some better pictures they could have picked.

I was going to ask if that was the ranger cabin on Copper Ridge, then I moused over and saw the URL. I was there a few years ago, incredible incredible place.

Another hike I did in the area was up to the Skyline Divide by Mt Baker, and spent the night there. Woke up to this view (new window) in the morning.
