Well, that's certainly not creepy at all.

Might want to start keeping pointy things away from Drew. You know he wants one of these.

Meh, they've had contact lenses like that for years. I would rather pop a full eyeball in (if I was missing one) than use cheap novelty lenses.

Kinda doubt that is an officially licensed NCAA product. University trademarks are serious business, wouldn't be surprised if he gets a letter from UK and/or the NCAA.

Speaking of glass eyes, why doesn't Dale Chihuly make one for himself, if he's so amazing?

If I lost my eye, I'd happily get Giants and Niners eyes to wear as the sports seasons changed.

2012-09-19 08:38:23 PM
Giants fans should poke out both eyes so they can have two Giants glass eyeballs.

So it only wears it in the winter? Cuz you don't want to be wearing a UK eyeball during football season.

Well its not like he gouged out his own eye to get it, he just happened to have an accident and decided to get one, ehhhh If I had to get one, why not?

Ironically, UK football still pulls in more money than basketball just like most schools who have both in big name conferences.

Yeah I gave up and now grab them from wherever and rehost them, posting seconds after someone else manages to post a working hotlinked one.

A kicker on Nebraska had one back in the mid 90s. He was even on the cover of a major sports mag wearing his team themed glass eye. I think his name was Bilanzich.

Exactly what I was thinking. If he put out his eye just to do this, that would be effing creepy. Hell, if I had to wear a glass eye, I'd buy a whole set of novelty designs.

Why should the fun and games end just because someone lost an eye?

If nobody's done it already, it can't be that long before someone makes a glass eye with either (a) a video camera inside, or (b) an LCD screen over the surface. Then we'll have some neat applications.

I was at a bar about eight or so years ago. Some dude walked in and ordered a beer.About five or ten minutes later he takes out his glass eye , puts it on the bar and says "watch my beer."
I bought two of his next three beers before leaving.

I'm a bit shocked that no Bama fan did this first.

If you've lost an eye I think you've earned the right to do whatever you want with that empty socket. Lemons, lemonade, etc.

Gunnery Sgt. Don Levesque was blinded in Vietnam. One eye had to replaced with a glass eye, and he had them make the pupil the Marine Corps emblem. He calls it his "dress eye." He was featured on a series of posters advocating hiring disabled veterans. He also ran the Death Valley ultra while blind after jumping out of a plane to get to the start.

I think Bill Belichick has a couple.

If I needed a glass eye, I'd get one with a red LED light. When I'm wearing an eyepatch. I think I'd look good with an eyepatch.

Actually, I'd rather see a sports-logo themed eyeball than this guy:

If I had a glass eye I'd develop a habit of tapping on it with a pen just to creep people out.
