thisispete: I bought the boxed set a few months ago. I'm up to season five. It's amazing how the series anticipated contemporary politics.
tomWright: ""I'm the President of the United States, not the President of the people who agree with me.""Yeah. Considering how many folks on the left I heard say that Bush was not "their" president, this seems somewhat, ironic? Does that fit here?
GAT_00: Obama could really learn how to govern from Bartlet. Campaign Bartlet and Campaign Obama are good, but Governing Obama sucks.
Via Infinito: I have never watched The West Wing and I'm starting to think that's a damned shame.
quatchi: Chameleon: It has nothing to do with politics, but "Noel" from Season 2 is my all-time favorite episode.Just thought I'd share.'Two Cathedrals' is mine. All 7 seasons are good, and yes in many ways the series was remarkably prescient.
DamnYankees: Via Infinito: I have never watched The West Wing and I'm starting to think that's a damned shame. This was always a favorite clip of mine, in terms of West Wing electoral politics: Link
TalenLee: thisispete: I bought the boxed set a few months ago. I'm up to season five. It's amazing how the series anticipated contemporary politics.Worth knowing is that Sorkin was basing characters in the series off political operators he saw and knew. Any time you think Josh throws elbows in a familiar way, remember that he's based on Rahm Emanuel.
DamnYankees: Governing Bartlett wasn't that good. What great pieces of legislation did he get passed?
WTF Indeed: It was a TV show. Let it go people.
AdolfOliverPanties: Via Infinito: I have never watched The West Wing and I'm starting to think that's a damned shame.I just started watching on AmazonPrime (and they need a better media player.) I didn't catch on to the original run until about the third season. Damn this was good stuff.
