Yeah the birth control argument is easy, because it can and is given to women to TREAT MEDICAL conditions not releated to birth control. If you deny a woman the ability to get birth control despite a medical professional recommendation due to its ability to treat a number of female specific issues because it also has another ability, then you are denying proper health care to a person because of GENDER.

Once again birth control can and is used to treat female conditions other than getting pregnant.

Doctors will actually prescribe it for a short period of a month or two then have them stop so that the woman CAN GET PREGANT.

Doctors will prescribe birth control to help control the hormonal blanace of woman, much like doctors prescribe men Testosterone patches. Why are conservatives allowing one gender to have health care but not another?

If you argue that the birth control pill prevents women from getting pregnant and bottom line thats wrong, well testosterone patches will actually reduce the effectiveness of sperm and potentially reducing the fertility of the male patient.

Only when prescribed by a doctor. But if you have insurance, it has to be given without a co-pay. 

Viagra is prescription-only, and you can still be charged a co-pay and/or have it not be covered by insurance.

I don't think that's a law, it's very much up to the doctor. Many doctors won't sterilize, or are hesitant to sterilize those that are young or without children.

My snip-snip doctor asked me a number of times about how long I'd been married, how many kids I had, how old they were, etc. I definitely got the impression he'd decline to do it if I'd answered incorrectly.

I'd bet it has to do with liability, I'm sure people have tried to sue doctors for doing a vasectomy and then claiming they didn't understand the consequences, weren't in their right mind/rushed, or the wife made some protest.

That's my thought as well. It's been a while since I've seen birth control cost, but think I still have a decent handle on it. I also know how much my niece's birth cost (just delivery, not pre-natal care). That visit to the maternity ward cost more than 3 lifetime supplies of birth control.

This is true. My wife is currently on birth control so we can try to get pregnant.

No to mention, woman who will die if they get pregnant, or are currently on another drug for something else that would hideous birth defects. And the 4th says the government shouldn't be able to ask for proof.

I was young when I got mine (Delaware, 23, at the time) and my doctor only warned me to be very sure this was what I wanted as reversal was difficult and unlikely. I told him 2 kids was more than enough and it was covered by my insurance at the time. Still don't regret it. The best part is since then (divorced, 35 now), several girlfriends have told me they were worried they might be pregnant and I told each one of them, "you might be, but it's not mine". Oddly, none of them found that funny.
