I'd tangle with a salt water croc to save my dog. An aligator is like one of those anoles they sell for $10 at pet shops compared to that.

And if he had been killed we'd be mocking him for his foolishness.

Florida just can't win in your eyes, Fark.

Still a foolish act. Probably a foolish act I would've done. Trying to wrestle with one in the water is suicidal; the beasts can roll and flail and snap about in the water easily, plus there might be others. Getting them while basking on the shore with mouths closed is hard enough.

Hero trumps Florida tag? Seriously, in Oklahoma we team rope our gators.

Didn't shoot him? How utterly un-American.

Would have done the same in a heart beat

Oh, you like me now, you like me a lot better

Hey, have I told you the story of how "Bounce" got his name?

Subby, this article needed FAIL tag.

Fark that. I'd be the coward buying a new dog.

A buddy and I worked at a gator/reptile farm for a summer a few years ago. Our "trainer" had such a deep accent that we had no idea what the fark he was saying 90% of the time. After watching him demonstrate various wranglings a few times, but more importantly after years upon years of Crocodile Hunter reruns, I made it through the summer unharmed and intact.
/CSB.

Gustafson took a running leap onto the gator and, after a struggle with the beast, managed to rescue his pooch and escape serious injury.

They don't make 'em like they used to. Don't f*ck with old people.

I wonder if florida will charge him with trying to feed the gators

It could have been a 25 foot great white shark in the middle of the ocean and the result would have been the same. A pissed off old man is truly the top of the food chain...at least on this planet.

I never understood why if you lived in Florida right next to a body of water, you wouldn't have a CCW or long gun on hand. Maybe the gator gets the dog, maybe he gets your grandkids, whatever.

Survived? Hero tag.

Didn't? Dumbass tag.

Why didn't he just bludgeon the creature to death with his enormous brass balls?

FTFA He turned and watched as a 7-foot gator swam away with Bounce's shoulder and collar in his grasp.

A 7 foot gator weighs between 700-800lbs on average. Hey claims to have held onto the back leg with one hand and held the head down with the other. (after snatching it with one hand)

THERE IS NO FARKING WAY!!

A physically fit 25 year old MMA heavyweight wouldn't be able to do that.

Not to mention a 7 ft gator could snap that tiny dog down in a gulp.

shenanigans.
