I hear that. I don't know how much actual creative control he has with that show but Supernatural is a suitable heir to The X-Files and Charmed.

And my Drew Barrymore bias may be in play here but Charlie's Angels was a fun movie.

But yeah, no white guy should ever call himself "McG". That's farking lame.

If they could somehow tle it into Once Upon a Time, I might watch it.

American McGee's Alice would have made a kick ass movie. But Tim Burton had to fark everything up.

If I recall, Sci Fi... rather, Syfy did this. And the miniseries wasn't that bad surprisingly. It was kinda a loose sequel set in the modern time.

At least 3 Prodigy songs per episode, guaranteed!

Given the success, both artistic and commercial, of Grimm and Once Upon a Time, and McG's record in television, I'm actually looking forward to this. At least the first few seasons.

I just hope it is like the Kristine DeBell version from the 70's.

Way to only mention the bad things there. You're like the Fox News of commentators.
He was also involved with Chuck, one of the best Supernatural episodes, Human Target, the first Charlie's Angels and Nikita.
So either Subby is slow or stupid. Either way, he shouldn't submit articles in the Entertainment section.

Wow Sean Murray not only has to rely on getting acting gigs by writing "Hi Daddy" on the application now he has to rely on his TV character's name to get producing jobs. Sad really.

An example of the most excellent CW, just intercepted on 7.031 MHz:

WHERE I LIVED FOR 8 YEARS I HAD A DICHONDRA LAWN CUT IT ONCE A YEAR AND THE REST OF THE YEAR ITS NICE AND GREEN ONLY DOWN SIDE IS SNAILS LOVE IT AND AFTER DARK THEY COME OUT U DONT WANT TO WALK IN YR BARE FEET HI BT HW DE W3BI K

W3BI has such a nice and even fist that I suspect his Morse is computer generated. He's a good, solid 599+10dB here.

Had to google that, but I've always thought he was a good enough actor on that show. No one on procedural dramas is a stellar actor, but he's not CSI:Miami bad either.

What's the beef?

Also, is supernatural done? Or ongoing? Might go back and check it out now. I always thought it was a terrible copy of Buffy and angel but if it's supposed to be up to fark's standards...

New season starts Oct 3.

Personally, I've been a fan the show since the beginning - the first 5 seasons were extremely solid and the next 2 have had some good moments (though the quality has taken a hit since Kripke stepped back)

I so felt the same way that it was a Buffy rip off of some degree and didn't give it a chance at first. Then found myself bored enough to start watching it and got hooked. Agree the first 5 seasons were great, and it has gone downhill the last 2 (I liked 6 still, but 7th was boring as hell for me). After I started watching it it easily became my favorite show on TV if you don't take it too seriously all the time. Hoping this season will pick up again, but definitely worth checking out once you get past the first few episodes getting used to the world and characters.

Torn on Supernatural post Season 5 - The story really was beautifully complete had it ended just before they showed Sam being back at the last second but every now and then they come up with an episode so fun (Weekend at Bobby's comes to mind) it makes it worth wrecking such a complete story arc for.

Sorry Subby Movie McG may be hit and miss but TV McG rocks

McG got his name from having the same name as his grandfather. From interviews (possible unreliable sure) his family gave him that nickname.

Oh and for Supernatural, I discounted it as a CW show with two dudes until I caugh lt it while bored one night. No idea how it has survived on that network. Also a great soundtrack, I think that's where most of the budget goes.

Though I posted the wrong image, Tin Man I really enjoyed, even for the cheesy moments (boob monkeys!). But overall found it a fun and interesting take on some of the concepts of Oz while writing their own story. The Alice show.... I did not find that one in the same light.

Hrm. Thanks for the replies all. Can I ask another selfish question not really on-topic?

Has anyone seen Alphas, and Lost Girl?

I caught about 15 minutes of both one weekend visiting the parents. Alphas seemed very Warehouse 13/Eureka/Sanctuary-ish, where they have a moderate budget and good writers (sometimes), but Lost girl seemed...like it was about the tits. Like Buffy without the writing and charm. Wooden actors going through what even a self described super-nerd would call a terribly hokey and embarrasing script.

Yeah, I, having too much time on my hands, have watched all of Alphas so far and the first season of Lost girl. Couldn't get through the second season. I don't recommend either, but Alphas at least has some interesting bits. It takes itself too seriously to have that many cliches though. Warehouse 13/Eureka/Sanctuary/Supernatural/etc. are all significantly better, but it's not quite so bad that I've stopped watching yet.

The actors are what keep me interested in it - Straitharn obviously but also Ryan Cartwright (who is far and away the #1 reason to watch the show) and Erin Way (who is in serious contention for the #2 spot - especially after this last episode) are both outstanding. Also the show manages to avoid most of the stupid shiat that made Heroes unwatchable past season 1 (though it's dangerously close to X-men vs Brotherhood of Evil Mutants plagiarism)

The "Photic Stimulator" is in dangerous territory, if they start upgrading powers out of control, like so many failed superpower shows.
Ditto about those actors specifically, though.
