This guy and his two friends are cray.

Thank you Jesus Diaz, you made me hate an entire article because of this one stupid sentence.

That's molten rock splashing around. You get hit with a big splash of that, and you'll be more than just cooked.

Can't wait for the follow up where he's turned into a human Cuban sandwich.

Yeah, the more words I read the less I cared about the video. I could have simply watched just the video, of course, if I didn't have to enable twelve scripts before it loaded..

So that was Geoff Mackley?

Hmmm... wonder if he has a website... wish he'd put a URL in his video!

Swan dive off the edge, best or worst way to commit suicide? Probably very painful, but only for a couple seconds. I wonder if you'd ignite before you even hit the surface.

The most incredible volcano video annoying watermark of all time

I'm confident we'll see this guy at least one more time on Fark.

My father's a geologist, and has told me about the enthusiastic vulcanologists he used to know. The operate phrase here is "used to."

Volcanology the most dangerous science there is.

Of course he wouldn't know any more, they all died in that black hole which consumed the planet.

I'm glad I had to go to Gizmodo to watch a YouTube video.

2012-09-18 05:44:08 PM
You'd think if you went to that much trouble to film a volcano that you could do it in hi-def.

Man!
That shiat was totally CRAY!

Have you ever seen anything so CRAY?!

Gizmodo? I'll go out on a limb and assume it's just a Youtube video with two sentences for the "article" ?

Can someone just post the Youtube video as I try to not give Gizmodo any traffic

The magic array is ... the gizmodo domain, and the two youtube domains.

Anyway, back to Jesus Diaz

Well, it's cool, but I actually think the volcanoes no the satellites of Jupiter and Saturn, which erupt due to gravitational tidal forces squeezing---

BANNED!!!

Ah, excellent use of a rocky ledge and a telephoto lens to create perspective issues.

I don't blame him for watermarking the video. Lots of people wouldn't bother with clearing the rights before using other people's footage and this was not cheap footage. You know, like the nut shot's that make up a Tosh.0 show.

The "Rite of Spring" sequence form Fantasia was going through my mind while watching that.

My dad is also a geologist. He worked for the USGS on Mt. St. Helens, starting just after the big 1980 eruption. He also used to know some volcanologists.

/he also does still know some, as well

Of course they do. There's even a specific vulcanophilic species of cray, the rock lobster.

But with the way the lava is churning in the posted video, I bet you could time your dive to get enveloped. Now the question I guess is whether you'd die from the heat, or from being crushed? I wasn't really thinking about the weight of lava, as mentioned in the article you link to . . .

I don't think anyone worries about drowning in lava.

If you jumped from high enough, you'd hopefully break your neck when you land and die instantly, instead of severely painfully by burning to death.
