Nothing Examiner ever puts out is worthy of the 'cool' tag.

Closed it when the whole page was taken over by an ad.

Anyone here actually read 50 Shades of Grey? Is it any good? I read a quick run-down of it on wikipedia, and it sounded like Twilight if you replace Vampires with S&M.

I'm not even sure there was an article. Nothing better than taking obnoxious and intrusive advertising and making it more obnoxious and intrusive.

It started out as Twilight fanfic.

I'm pretty sure that's what it is. I read somewhere that it was originally Twilight fan-fic and the author just changed the names.

Love how they're claiming that it's "true" without any evidence to support that claim other than the person who supposedly wrote it saying that it is. You'd think they'd have learned a lesson from "A Million Little Lies...err...Pieces"

my wife read it/is reading the followups, and I love it. Not that i've ever cracked the cover, but I love her reading it. That is all I need to know.

Does it have an audiobook version narrated by Gilbert Gottfried?

Nah, it's not the same when it's real. It's creepy and seedy. Versus when it's fictional, it's campy and over the top.

that was worth the read for this gif alone.
It's obviously a Christian Gray gif as it is FAR TOO LARGE to squeeze into Fark's little virgin image hole.

That was a pretty fun review. From the multitude of gifs to the breakdown of story problems-
And the overused word/phrase count. Haw! Poor dear really wanted to save our sanity. Bless her!
Also detailing out so much unrealistic horse hockey about sex this book actually contains. And it is a LOT.
But the 15 orgasms a day thing isn't- even though the reviewer seems to think so.

And my fave gif (besides JL-D) had to be Mr. Nicholson flipping the bird. That man is, well, something else. A good something else, though.

And not in a consensual way. There are a lot of predators using the lifestyle as an excuse to prey. They usually get identified as they go cruising for fresh meat. #1 ID method is how they claim to be such an expert that safewords are "not needed." Mistah Twue Dominate is just SO DAMN GOOD that he knows when you're reaching your limits before you do!

So yeah, at that point it's run and shun time.

I really feel bad for all the naive folks trying to find their way in that world. So much potential for abuse.
No safeword=no morals.

You know, nothing has made me lose respect for femininity faster than the biddies at the office who insist that the 50 Shades series is literature.

I mean, we males enjoy our smut too, but I don't know any man who will argue that this month's issue of Crammed Co-Eds isn't pornography. At least we're honest about it, is all.

Speaking of Amazon: I got a little notice from them recommending a zombie book (one I've already read, btw). With accidental lulz in the subject line.

So wait, when is the new updated version of "Go Ask Alice" going to come out? Because that's where I see this going.

Some über-religious wingnut is going to happen upon upon all these poorly written piles of dreck, and they're going to decide to "save us all!" Next thing you know, a new "Alice" will be living in an asylum after going nuts from ER forays into the world of S&M.

Pretty sure I could track down examples on a social network dedicated to it. Dunno if those examples could be verified, tho'. Much like the truthfulness of the book that this thread is about.

I had the pleasure of being asked by my 76 year old mother if I had read this book. After cringing, I told her that it was poorly written mommy porn and that there was not a snowballs chance that I would waste my time or money. She laughed and told me that she doubted anyone who would read mommy porn cared about the writing ability of the author.

My mom is funny sometimes...bless her heart.
