Who?

j/k... I've heard of him; just not a big fan.

2003-11-25 12:54:53 AM
Well I didn't see that coming.

Are the fines higher for extreme drunk driving? Extremely higher?

I don't want to freak anybody out or anything, but did you ever notice how "Glen Campbell" is an anagram for "bang PC ell mel"?

freaky, man, freaky.

I know it was neccesary to post the AZ link, but this is funny. Farkers are posting in a flurry in the original thread, as though it was the most important story all year.

2003-11-25 12:58:17 AM
Is he related to Bruce Campbell?

2003-11-25 12:59:27 AM
It is important damnit. Anything that involves a natural person getting drunk and raising hell is relevant. Unless its Michael Jackson. But I did stipulate natural person.

2003-11-25 12:59:29 AM
Oh yeah, he's the guy who sells albums on TV. No, not Boxcar Willie, the other one.

2003-11-25 01:03:26 AM
In response to the prisoner's repeated question, "Do you know who I am?" officers could only reply, "No, I have no farking idea who you are, now shut the fark up."

/rhinestones...Flintstones...what's the difference?

2003-11-25 01:04:33 AM
I've read through some of the other comments in the other link... Who?

There was a lot of (Campbell saying) 'do you know who I am'

He's no Tara [bleeping] Reid.

"Do you know who I am?"

"Yes, Mr. Nolte."

"D'OH!"

"When Campbell was inside the intake facility at Madison Street Jail in downtown Phoenix, he could be heard singing his hit song "Rhinestone Cowboy""... Sooo, after realizing that no one knows who he is he tries to non-chalantly remind them by singing a song I'm sure he's sick of doing after how ever many years.

Uhhhh huh.

2003-11-25 01:13:59 AM
80 song box set?!?! WTF? Who the hell buys this kind of crap?

2003-11-25 01:15:45 AM
Fark makes the daring leap from second-hand to first-hand news source. My lame local herald surrenders.

2003-11-25 01:18:05 AM
.15 "extremely drunk driving" hell...that's "indian drunk driving"

2003-11-25 01:20:49 AM
Believe it or not, he was the biggest draw entertainer for many years. He put Ovation guitars on the map with a huge endorsement deal. I really can't say that I like his stuff. Wichita Lineman isn't too bad.

My favorite Glen Campbell story (and pretty much my only Glen Campbell story)...

He was on the 700 Club, about 15 years ago. Telling Pat Robertson how he fought the demon of cocaine, and won. And he tells this sappy story about being outside by a tree and it was at that moment the Lord came to him and he gave his life to Jesus. And Pat's sitting there with this big-ass shiat-eating grin going, "... and... that's when you stopped using the cocaine?" Glen: "Well, uh, no, that was a couple years later, but..." Robertson's smile was still glued on his face. I roared.

2003-11-25 01:22:42 AM
.15 is drunk, but it's not that drunk. He must have had something else going on.
An 80 song box set? I wouldn't buy that on a dare.

2003-11-25 01:24:40 AM
This is too farking werid.

I grew up in Delight Arkansas, down the street from his dad. I always thought Glen was a nice guy, but then again he always had cool stories to tell about celebs that he knew.

Oh well. I care, but then again, I know the guy. If I didn't I would not give a rats ass.

2003-11-25 01:28:42 AM
Peaceboy you do realize that now you are on record as having actually watched the 700 club, correct?

Was the story really worth all the mental anguish that will be levied upon you?

2003-11-25 01:38:48 AM
haha, yeah Outlawtsar, I realized that after I hit the "Add Comment" button... but in all actuality I was flipping channels that day and I found it absorbing enough to not flip away for about 2 minutes. And that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

In Peaceboy's defense, It doesn't mean he picked up the phone and donated (I hope).
I watched an episode of the Golden Girls once. Once. it doesn't mean I have a Bea Arthur poster on my wall. It would clutter it up, what with all the Estelle Getty posters I have there.

2003-11-25 01:39:40 AM
Who?!

*still listening to The Buzzcocks*

2003-11-25 01:39:45 AM
he's a handsome dude.

2003-11-25 01:41:26 AM
Like a rhinestone dumbass...

I doubt this will hurt his career since Glen Campbell fans are unlikely to keep up with current events. I have a girlfriend in Branson (I know, I know...) and let me tell ya, the tourists there are generally clueless... They'll watch the Weather Channel religiously but CNN???? Forget it...

2003-11-25 01:42:11 AM
he bonaparte retreated

2003-11-25 01:46:53 AM
Free Glen Campbell!

No thanks, I'm trying to cut down.

2003-11-25 01:48:31 AM
Peaceboy: Dang, that was funny. I watch 700 Club once or twice a year for the same reason. Pure Sublime Entertainment. Either that or if I am psyching up to write an extreme anti-religion rant.

My wife will catch me watching it and scream at me to turn that farking Goddanged rocksucking shiat off...and I just laugh...

2003-11-25 01:52:51 AM
As the poster of the 'original' Campbell LINK (that one's for seb) I would just like to say that, well, nothing I guess, just thought I'd mention that.

/proud that she now has a link submitted.....equally proud that it was before CNN, NBC, Yahoo....etc....etc.....

OK, I feel approriately retarded now, having gone on and on about my first submitted link. Time for bed, of course that damn Glen won't stop singing Rhinestone Cowboy (in my head, that is)

tatum: /rhinestones...Flintstones...what's the difference?

I've been taking those Flintstones Vitamins lately... they don't really make me feel better, but I can now stop my car with my feet....

2003-11-25 02:23:16 AM
Uhhhh........ Glenn who?

2003-11-25 04:04:37 AM
From glencampbellshow.com FAQs:

"Glen plays golf as many days a week as he can, watches his diet and has quit smoking cigarettes and drinking. He's in great shape."

You're going to look pretty "rhinestony" wearing Sheriff Joe's pink coveralls, Glen.

(By the way, Joe's got one of the weirdest websites I've ever seen. Check out the "52 Card Pick-up" link.)

It's the soup that eats like a....

Nevermind.

2003-11-25 04:23:20 AM
Watching the 700 Club is the only way to maintain my pure hatred of Pat Robertson. Every once in awhile, I find myself merely loathing him...finding him just extremely annoying...suspecting that his head is not entirely up his ass. Then I tune in and watch The 700 Club. The Pure Hatred is thus rekindled.

What ever happened to Robert Tilton's Success 'N Life Ministry. That guy had eyebrows that were alive, but the best part was the speaking in tongues. Hehehe.

/I'm not the Prince of Darkness...just the Earl of Insufficient Illumination.

Whoa. I followed Glasseye's link, then searched mugshots for 'Campbell'. Found this:

0.15 = "Extreme DUI"??? Is that some kind of official designation? You can get to 0.15 from a 6-pack. You shouldn't be driving, but it's not exactly staggering drunk.

2003-11-25 05:03:27 AM
"...he could be heard singing his hit song "Rhinestone Cowboy."

This is hilarious!
