I agree with the man. Get them back, pay them and make them full time employees.

Steve Young dressed down the NFL in regards to the ref situation after the game tonight, it was a thing of beauty.

I think they were trying to turn shanahan's face the same color as the dude on the side of the redskins helmets

I miss Ed Hochuli's gun show and exceptionally long-winded explanation of calls.

Obscure Login: Mogani: and people will still be complaining about refs when the old ones come back........lets face it people and players complain about refs even when they had the regular refs in and will still complain with them when they get back... what just gonna waiver the first few weeks cause of the quality of the refs? i am pretty certain that with the reg refs we would still hear people crying about refs...

Yeah, the regular refs blow calls, but these guys blow just as many calls (if not more) along with a bonus of having no control over the game. There is no flow, constant 5 minute stops for them to figure out where to place the ball and 5 minute stops to decide on what terrible call they are actually going to make.

The games are almost unwatchable with these guys out there and tonight's game is a perfect example.

The regular guys have plenty of faults but after seeing the replacement refs out there, I can at least appreciate the game management part of their job.

In any given weekend, the regular refs make one or two bad calls, across all the games, which warrant conversation. These jokers are making 3-5 each game. Skins/Rams: 3 personal fouls and the debacle with the Rams at the goal line. shiat, I was rooting for the Redskins, but was yelling, "WTF is this shiat?!?" at that abortion of a play. The Redskins didn't stop the Rams. The referees did.

I honestly don't know all the ins and outs of the negotiations.... but I freaking hope they are important enough issues to warrant farking up the first 1/8th of the season.

I've never seen so many bad spots in one weekend. Bad spots!!! That's un-farking-forgivable.

uofacats2004: The replacement refs are pretty bad. Given the circumstances they have been put in, I'd say they have done a good enough job. They are under such scrutiny and it's unfair to them to be judged and ridiculed the way they have been.

That being said, they aren't good enough to do the job.

What slays me is they can't even run the game clock right. Or the play clock.

the Vick call was correct. He arm was clearly moving forward, so it was incomplete pass. But the refs lost control of the Ravens/ Eagles game. The refs lost control of the Redskins/ Rams game. And the refs are losing control of the Broncos/ Falcons game currently.

A key player is going to get hurt during a post-whistle scrum that would never have occurred with the regular officials. These replacement officials are allowing way too much fighting and eventually a key needless injury is going to occur.

My Google-fu is weak. Anyone got a link for the Refs Union where I can send some support email?

Hell, I'll send cookies to 'em if'd get them back on the field. Goodell needs to be forcibly retired.

Please bring the refs back before more serious injuries occur. This is ridiculous. Out of the overall NFL budget, taking care of the refs should be a no brainer.

The Eagles game had a 5 minute 2 minute warning.

I know it's not an easy job. I don't fault the replacements for trying, but c'mon Roger!

Give the refs what they want. One of these games (an important one) will be decided by a horrible call.

Just a matter of time.

The replacement refs are terrible. They have added an extra half hour to the game.
