I could probably score a goal too if all the goalie did was stand there

Unless he had a rocket up his ass the goalie wasn't getting within 5 feet of that one.

This looks legit too because of the "what just happened" look on the guy's face when he turns around at the end.

Isn't soccer a game for women?

First thought: well, penalty kicks really can come down to luck. It wouldn't be THAT hard to score one blind folded, just gotta hope the keeper goes the other way.

Second thought: hmm, he's backing up a bit, still might be a bit hard to hit the ball right

Third thought: whatthefarkjusthappened.

I'm supposed to be shocked a guy that handles footballs his whole life is able to hit a net the size of a barn blindfolded? In who-knows-how-many takes?

So the "blindfolded" kicker waves to the goalie to signal he's ready, and the goalie waves back. I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and guess the "blindfold" isn't as opaque as we think.

I don't give a shiat how many takes it took, that was pretty ridiculous.

He never even faces the camera while the "blindfold" is down. The thing could be a ski mask with eye holes, for all we know.

Fútbol fans! So starved for scoring that watching a professional kicking past a stationary goalie is exciting!

There's no goalie in the history of humankind that could get that ball. If it was a slow dribbler just off center you would have a point, but that was a perfect penalty, and perfect penalties are unguardable. When you see that kind of shot as a goalie, you know you have no shot at getting it and just hope it goes wide.

They're not waving to each other. That behavior is protocol during PKs. You raise your hand to indicate you're ready to the ref.

In the video, they raise their hands, then you hear someone acting as the ref whistle to start play.

This is actually one goal that the keeper should have had a pretty good chance at stopping, had he been interested in doing so. It was pretty obvious that the kicker was setting up for a hook to the top right, _and_ the kicker couldn't tell if the keeper had eased over to that corner.

Bllindfold the goalie and see how many stops he makes. Not impressed though, I saw Meadowlark Lemon hit a half court shot blindfolded once. Pretty sure he wasn't looking, he had his back to the basket.

That is an amazing shot blind folded or not, no many how many takes it took. It's pretty close to as perfect as a shot as you can do.

This video just reaffirms how ridiculous it is that soccer uses this system to crown the GLOBAL CHAMPION. They should play OT until someone scores, regardless of how long it takes.

No goal keeper in the world would have caught that.

When a goalkeeper sees a ball going towards the corner, the correct thing to do is to stand still. If it's in, he can't to anything about it. If it's wide, well great.

If the ball however hits the post in that situation, it'll often bounce back into play, which means that unless it's a penalty shootout, it's in free play, and the goal keeper would do better by being on his feet.
