dickfreckle: That's more or less how guys think. Remember, no matter how smart we get - no matter the degrees, rewards, etc - we're fundamentally idiots who want to watch football and drink beer. We're simple, as this famous pic depicts:

I'm gonna have to call bullshiat on that pic, my dear. I must be on my way now or I'd explain in more detail. But yeah, dudes require a lot more than just flipping their on switch. ;) And women, I mean dang y'all, just bring us wine & tell us we're pretty! It's not difficult!

robsul82: dickfreckle: I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, but when we depend on our rivals losing, something isn't right.

Yeah, definitely not. But hey, at least we'll be busy with the latest news from Schefter, that Goodell took out a GW-signed sworn affidavit saying Vilma offered the 10 Gs for Favre during the meeting today. The multiple sworn affidavits taken during the Berrigan proceedings saying it never happened won't count, and on we'll go, lol.

/given the BS that went on with the Hargrove statement and what was supposedly in it according to the NFL that wasn't, I'd like to read it for myself at some point
//also interesting, the affidavit says there were no pay-for-injury payments and what they had was an ordinary pay-for-performance pool, contradicting Goodell's position
//so is Roger saying only the one part of GW affidavit is true and ignore the rest of it, or...?
////strange days continue

Have a huge reply for this - agreeing with you - but the laundry is done. At a 24 hour bar. In New Orleans. Gotta run home and shower because I have lots of sh*t-talking to do tonight.

Living with a woman is different than charming one for an evening. In my long and inglorious history with long-term girlfriends (and a fiancee), I've just found it easier to not get involved, which is why we should just get a room and watch the Donkeys beat Atlanta. I'm fun; you're fun. Everyone wins!

/I have every Marvin Gaye album ever recorded, right here on the phone :)

P.S. - Florio's reporting that GW signed this statement on September 14, 3 days ago. So when people come crowing about it now being proven true that Roger had secret evidence he's been sitting on all along, that's not the case. Plus, where's GW now? On a backpacking trip in Thailand. You can't cross examine a piece of paper, so Ginsberg would have to go get GW back from halfway around the world, lol...you can't put this stuff in a movie, critics would go crazy.

Looks like their starting. I'm down by 7 with those two players against Michael Turner. Fark.

Screw you Saints fans, I'm cheering for the Falcons to beat a division rival of my favourite team that also happens to be 0-2

Whew. I was worried at first, but it seems that the politics didn't mingle with my football for too long.

Go donkos!

Saints Cheater Update:
Jonathan Vilma gave a sworn affidavit today saying the Saints did have a bounty program.

So, my irrational hate for the Saints is somewhat more rational.

robsul82: Jay Cutler, Delhomme RatingTM - 66.7 (4 INT)

with my ff league's punitive int/sack scoring, jay cutler earned his team a total of -13 points this week. he would have been better off actually starting jake delhomme than cutler.

Peyton is Peyton. Unless his head falls off, he's Peyton and will be fine.

Denver's D is stout as hell, with good young players and they get after you...they really play aggressively. Peyton is the mastermind of offense and making adjustments at the line. Manning-led offense with Denver's running line is tough to beat.

Atlanta's defense has visiting teams scoring 7 points between the team busses and the locker room. As in, drunken $2 whore when the boat comes in easy. They have a good offense, and Mike "Tree Trunk Thighs" Turner...hell , even Tony G is still getting down the field and one heck of a smart player.

But Peyton's offense and the Denver running game (9 of 10) against that screen door defense (3, on a good day) is a lot bigger plus for the Donkos than the other side ...Atlanta's decent to good offense (6-7ish) against Denver's D (9).

Denver in a rout. Speshul teams may help, but Denver kicker is a lot better too, not like he'll be doing much FG attempting tonight.

Sitting in a cigar bar watching ESPN. I don't care how much Van Huesen is paying him. That is a ridiculously awful shirt/tie combination, Steve Young.

at least he has an excuse, i'm pretty sure ditka picked his shirt/tie himself.

xaks: Denver in a rout.

Ryan is on fire after week one and Den's pass defense on 3rd down is suspect. Denver by 4.

I've not no dog in this fight, but I'll personally put up an adult beverage of your choice and the local Ale House (or whatever pub) if you're in south Florida up on this. Denver by *at least* 7.

Book it. Done.

Who's got the stones to try me?

Or GW gave it 3 days ago and went backpacking in Thailand. The multiple sworn affidavits saying otherwise don't count, the guy who was an inhuman monster ordering players to destroy Crabtree's ACL is now a decent guy just telling the truth, and in no way is this Goodell showing how desperate he is or GW trying to get reinstated. Sure.

Also, the affidavit does not claim there were pay-for-injury bounties, it says there was the common pay-for-performance pool and Vilma went off and offered the $10K on his own. In short, half of what GW is saying in it doesn't jibe with what Goodell has said about the program, only the part directly involving Vilma and the NFC title game.

Worst of it should go north. I'm in N. AL, we're under the same watch, but it's more of a CYA thing for the meteorologists.

Charlie Daniels? Would it be too much to ask MNF to pick a Georgian or at least move up to last decade and go with some Outkast?

It's not even like Atlanta is some hick city. Save this shiat for Jacksonville.

2012-09-17 08:19:27 PM
Nevermind the politics of country musicians, but MNF should open with a highlight package from that weeks previous action set to an Autum Thunder soundtrack, leading to a clip package of previous meetings between or relevant highlights of those teams interleaved with iconic MNF highlights, capped with the MNF theme, maybe 30 seconds of commentators doing a team introduction, then kickoff. It should drive me deep into my comfy chair, in preperation for football bliss. This is the last bit of football and it has to get us through the week. Don't pollute it with anything else.

Julio Jones! You almost make me want to root for Atlanta... nah, not really.
