TFA fails without mentioning the drinks that tend to most often liberate undergarments.

//Why any guy would drink the last two of those is beyond me.

That was the most incredibly useless chart I have ever seen. Here, let me do one for cigarettes:

Marlboros: A stimulant, smoking these can raise the heart rate and blood pressure. It will also give an immediate boost, followed by a quick reduction, to brain activity.

Pall Mall: Also a stimulant, smoking these can give an immediate boost, followed by a quick reduction, to brain activity. It will also raise the heart rate and blood pressure.

Camel: These will stimulate several systems in your body including brain activity, heart rate, and blood pressure.

FTA: ''It's similar to the reason people might combine alcohol with an amphetamine when they go out. Something to do with the interaction gives you a positive intoxication. It's a charged intoxication. An energetic intoxication."

WAT??

Can someone explain this to me I guess I'm missing something here?

Wow, so Australian booze is for pansies then? You can drink an entire sailboat worth of their beer and only have to worry about some potential nausea!

I didn't pay close attention... but I didn't understand the next graphic that priced vodak at $40 and whiskey at $4.

fark, if I could find whiskey's for 1/10 the price of vodaks, I would be very happy.

Brokeback Mountain ruined the cowboy image of being "cool."

Now he looks like he's waiting for his team roping partner to come back to the ranch, so they can go brand each other's asses in the barn.

Why would anyone want to take any sort of stimulant with their alcohol?  Whether you're just sipping one drink at the end of the day, or are a full-on alchoholic... the whole point is to relax you.

Eh you'll never stop people from mixing their chosen vices. Personally, I get the appeal. Sometimes you just don't want the relaxing effect of alcohol to be too prominent. So you add a little stimulant to the mix to keep you peppy all night.

I just think a lot of people take it overboard these days. I've watched people drink nothing but red bull and vodka all night, and that's a tad excessive to me. 1 or 2 shots just for a little pep is one thing, or even just a red bull on it's own. An entire night of nothing but red bull and vodka though? No thanks.

All good, to each their own.  Just not my thing.  One of the benefits of drinking at night is it helps put you to sleep.

Not a good breakdown in terms of variability of effects. Summary of all of TFA's descriptions: Drinks make you sociable, then you get tired and barf.

I personally can feel a huge difference between beer drunk, wine drunk, bourbon drunk, etc.

To elaborate:

Beer drunk = grumpy
Wine drunk = sleepy or festive, very dependent on environment
Bourbon drunk = let's paint lightning bolts on the dog

Indeed. But when you're out on a Friday night and start hitting the wall, a little shot of red bull is often just what you need to power through. I guess you could say it's situational. When I'm at home, I love just drinking my straight scotch. Eventually laying back for a night of glorious, scotch-induced, sleep.

When I'm out with a group on a Friday night though? I want to have fun, and get a little sloshed, but the last thing I want to do is pass out early. So a little red bull here or there never hurts.

For me:

Beer = Too filling to even get drunk

Wine = Headache drunk (I still do it a lot, as the wife works for a wine shop and gets a huge discount)

Vodka drunk = Just perfect

Anything else, I really dislike.  I mean, I like stuff like Herbsaint, Campari, and fancy-schmancy stuff... but not to get drunk on.

Oh, and:

Chartreuse = don't do it!  Just don't.  You won't remember a damn thing you did that night, but your non-Chartreuse drinking friends will.

americans love their drugs. can't get enough of them. i guess its because they're so happy and free that they have a need to get high.

Heh.  I suggest you try it at a bar first, its got a taste that very few people like.  Also, its damn expensive.

The whole "speedball" notion of stimulant + depressant always struck me as a bit wrong (and not just cause it killed John Belushi), but I tend to be high strung and don't do terribly well with stimulants at the best of times.

Just remember shots are for amatures unless that's all you're drinking.

/otherwise you're just not drinking heavily enough
