Scruffinator: great_tigers: This just in, Miguel is incredible. My wife (from Cleveland area) just shouted "ha ha, screw you Cleveland"

I missed it, what happened?

Miggy hit a huge home run. They were down 3-5, it was a three run home run. Just absolutely nailed it and knew it as soon as he swung.

Still more games left in MLB season than NFL season. Things'll pick up in a couple weeks.

Awesome. Tigers cannot afford to lose this game.

It's Leyland I'm worried about. Valverde is going to give him a heart attack one of these days.

I blame myself too. He will get out of it and Infante will hit a home run in the 10th.

Sigh. Oh well, look at it this way. The Tigers have to play Oakland for 3 games, the rest is against teams already eliminated. The White Sox still have 3 away against LAA, and 4 against Tampa at home.

There is still time!

Next couple of weeks will determine if the A's are for real or not.. I think they have the toughest schedule of the remaining AL contenders.

Damn it, Oakland, stop with the suckage.

The Tigers last 13 games are with KC and the Twins, while the White Sox have 7 games with the Angels and Rays. Tigers are still in a better position to win the division, even if they lose tomorrow.

The tigers just always seem to lose games they're supposed to win and win the tough ones. The schedule argument is shiat. I am saying they tie or lose the division by a game.

On the bright side, a Baltimore win officially eliminates the Red Sox from the playoffs. So there's that

Meanwhile, in the NL wild card race:

The Cardinals and Dodgers entered today tied for the last spot. They are currently locked in a 2-2 game in the 9th.

The Phillies and Pirates both lost so they will fall to 4.5 and 3.5 behind either LA r St. Louis

Te Brewers won, so they will stay just 2 out.

The D-Backs lead the Giants by 8 runs, so they are still clinging to life at 4.5 back.
