Hardly worth the 30 second commercial at the beginning.

2012-09-16 11:08:51 AM
that was pretty funny.

So it was exactly the same as Eastwood's bit at the RNC then?

Why is it on their 'hollywood' page when snl is new york based and they have a 'new york' page

Clint got paid by the GOP; Clint is the winner, the GOP are the losers of that deal.

Thirty second commercial before the "article" would even load.
Fifteen second commercial at the start of the video, which was the entire "article".
Couple of minutes of boring "humor" from SNL.

So glad I clicked that link. Yup.

I'm still trying to fathom why a pro-life party would have someone on stage who made a film promoting euthanasia.

Dead for Tax Reasons: Why is it on their 'hollywood' page when snl is new york based and they have a 'new york' page

Because it's entertainment and all entertainment comes from Godless liberal socialist Hollywierd.

Saturday Night Live is still on the air?

If that was the best part, I'm glad I did not bother watching any of the show.

It wasn't funny since the opening monologue of the first show in 1975.

Cause he euthanated those dirty hippies in Dirty Harry. That's why we can overlook Letter from Iwo Jima. That's what you wetre referring to right?

Bill Hader's face is very expressive.

/Sounded like Bale's Batman.

I rarely watch SNL but when I do the Hader guy always seems to stand out, i never hear much about him (except this article of course). Has he done anything else besides SNL?not in any Sandler movies I hope.

You're lucky. The thing froze on me and I had to F5, so I got that ad twice. And the bit wasn't funny. Too much like the real thing.

I did not know that, I'm sure Southpark must pay better. Think I will youtube Haders skits, most of the show is just too painfull to watch sometimes.

Because I like guys who can dance.

Hader was great in Adventureland, which was a really underrated movie. He manages the amusement park with his wife, played by Kristen Wiig. They pretty much owned the movie. Here's one of his scenes:

He was also in "Superbad" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." Actually, he was funny as hell in those.

2012-09-16 12:49:15 PM
If that was the best moment, _________________.

2012-09-16 12:55:12 PM
The puppet skit, where Hader played a shell-shocked vet, was much better. Actually, most of the show was better, except the drill sergeant skit, which felt too much like "classic" SNL.

/One joke, not funny, done for far too long.

2012-09-16 12:55:45 PM

shower_in_my_socks: Hader was great in Adventureland, which was a really underrated movie.

If "underrated" means horribly paced, uninteresting, an dull, then you're bang on.

2012-09-16 12:56:02 PM
I preferred the bit he was in with the puppets, with him playing the Vietnam vet.

2012-09-16 12:58:00 PM
No ads here, but still not really worth the effort to allow several scripts before it ran. With the raw material that Clint provided I was expecting much more. I guess they kept it lighthearted rather than risking stepping over the line from humor to pathos but that limited them.

2012-09-16 01:01:54 PM
the puppet skit was the best.

And "Paul," which I still maintain was a better homage to early Spielberg than "Super 8."

Also, shower_in_my_socks is correct about "Adventureland."

2012-09-16 01:25:33 PM
This skit wasn't the best part by a country mile. The puppet segment was pretty funny, and McFarlane as Ryan Lochte had me rolling on the floor.

2012-09-16 01:30:48 PM
Way to go for the low-hanging fruit, SNL.

Oh, and also to fail to make anything more than obvious jokes and sight-gags.

/The Daily Show nailed Clint Eastwood a couple of weeks ago when this was still current.

Puppets? SNL has been reduced to getting its best laughs from freaking puppets? And you SNL lovers don't think that is in any way lame? Seriously?!?! I mean, ok, enjoy whatever you want and you won't get hassled by me about it, but I have to tell you that as an adult living in what is still for the moment a free country I have many better and more interesting things to do at 11:30 on a Saturday night than to sit at home in front of a television watching a farking puppet show.

2012-09-16 01:45:09 PM
If that was one of the funniest moments from SNL this week, they need to cancel the show.

Stick a fork in it. It's done.

2012-09-16 01:45:33 PM
If that is what passes as humor in America now, I'm moving back to Australia.

I also vote for the puppet sketch. Strong stuff.

Oh, and I forgot to add, this sketch wasn't my favorite of the night, but when he started singing "I say potato" one-sided, I cracked up.
