Good. The theater down the street from my place has been showing Halloween every October for the past 2 years. It's a lot more fun on the big screen.

Rob Zombie farkin' rocks, nostalgic old fool. Wait...Halloween 2 totally killed. ...?
Ready for his Salem's Lot movie too. Devil's Rejects, House of a 1,000 Corpses, smokin' wife (just had to throw that in there too).

I'm going with a sheet ghosted over my body and won't say a word to anyone all night. No way that's a bad idea, right?

Eh, won't come to my city's theater. When I was in high school someone had to get a petition going to to have the re=released star wars movies come. The owner is under the impression that people only go to the theater to see new movies.

I'm game. I love the trend of bringing back older, popular movies for a limited run. It's just fun to see them on a big screen and get the audience reaction.

You can only play films you have reels for. But will the upcoming digital conversion allow movie houses to play any older film? That has the potential to change things.

(I still won't go, because their overuse of commercial ads before and during movie start time has ruined the experience.)

This. The Devil's Rejects is a legitimately great movie, but other than that he hasn't done anything worthwhile since his first solo CD.

To be fair, Rob Zombie's version wasn't terrible. It was an unnecessary and forgettable remake of a much better film that was basically a cash grab, but I've seen worse.

I'm not cool enough yet to hate Rob Zombie, so I actually enjoyed his Halloween remake. Never saw his Halloween 2, though.

Absolutely, 100% agree. House of 1,000 Corpses was alright. Halloween 2 was t e r r i b l e. And to the person that said his wife is smoking hot: Yeah, she's pretty, but he needs to stop casting her in his flicks.

I feel like the scariest thing he does is put rape in the movies, and I'm not a big fan of that. It is absolutely horrifying, but I feel like it is an "easy" way to scare/horrify because it is so gross.

His remake was pointless. "Hey, we're going to spend half of the movie trying to explain why Michael got this way, then show you that he's pure evil anyway so none of that matters." What a farking waste.

Ummm.....so? It's Halloween. A movie about a guy in a stupid mask killing even stupider teenagers for no reason. A stupid movie that spawned a million shiatty sequels. Turning your nose up at a Halloween remake? That's like being an apple juice snob. Who gives a shiat what brand it is, it's farking apple juice.

It was a stupid movie that was WELL MADE. Yes, the sequels and remakes were horrible, but that doesn't change the face that Rob Zombie should just retire an open a tattoo shop in Texas someplace and leave the rest of us alone.

Not only that, but the second half seemed like a Cliff's Notes version of the original, only not as well done.

You should really go back to the original credits to the movie and see what it says next to the actor that plays MM. It says 'the shape'. Take that however you want, but if you prefer Rob turning MM into a 7 foot monster that was white trash as a kid and treated like shiat then, that's cool.

I'm old enough to have seen it when it was originally released in 1978. I also remember being so spooked by it that I kept looking back over my shoulder to make sure someone wasn't following me to my car.

It's still one of my favorite horror movies and is at the top of my yearly Halloween movie marathon, all featuring Jamie Lee Curtis. Halloween, Halloween II, The Fog & Prom Night.

Halloween night isn't right for me until I'm drinking sangria and watching the original Halloween.

I'll take the original over the remake any time. We don't need a 7 foot tall Michael Myers and the whole town to be full of drunken rednecks for it to be entertaining. Give me the original stealthy Myers anyday.

Will the rerelease restore the blue tinge during the night scenes (like on the 2000 DVD)? The color timing has seemed off since that release.

Ugh, I hate this argument against movies. It's really saying nothing since it can be said about anything.

"I dismiss the subject matter so who cares about this movie or any attempts to make it good."

"It's about transforming robots/super heroes/masked killers, etc. so of course it wasn't going to be good. What did you expect?"

Having just picked up the director's cut DVD of Halloween (Zombie) today, I'm getting a kick.

/Thought the remake was pretty good. The special features gave me some insight to his vision. Good stuff made by a true fan, and Malcolm McDowell is awesome in anything he does.

You're pretending like I do this with every movie that sucks ass. I don't. Pretty much the only time I'll break out this kind of argument is for remakes or premises that are so stupid, it's amazing it actually didn't kill someone how terrible it was. Rob Zombie's re-make, however, could have been MUCH worse than it really was. It wasn't. Again, I'm not nostalgic for the original (yes I have seen it, no I didn't like it) so maybe that's why I'm so lenient on Zombie's version. I just don't see why people make such a big out of it. It was an okay movie, even if it hadn't been a remake of an already classic horror/slasher flick. Take it or leave it, I don't really give a crap.
