Israel according to the CIA World Factbook. "Parliamentary Democracy".

But when I want to see an absolutely stunningly stupid statement, I just need to look for a post by Whidbey. They only reason I have not put him on my ignore list is each time he opens his mouth he sets the stupid notch to a whole new level. It's fascinating to watch.

Is this 20 questions?

Or are you actually capable of formulating an opinion all your own?

Israel is not a democracy. If it were, then it would be sharing power with the Palestinians by now. This is a fact. See=Hezbollah

Oh, come on can't we just have a small nuclear war :(
/Why do I never get any fun.

Might I suggest an initial strike of one max-yield neutron weapon detonated directly over the Dome of the Rock, with additional strikes over what's left of Jerusalem 20 seconds later?

Lights out very fast that way for those poor damned sods. :'(

Doesn't it sound fun, though. First a bright light in the sky and all electronics go down and then the real fun starts, like millions blinded wondering the radioactive waste land, just makes me happy :/

fark you Israel. You don't get to dictate to the world.

You're quite right. You will all cheer when Israel is nuked, as iran promises to do on a weekly basis.

But, since Iran is refining uranium for "purely peaceful" purposes, and they are too stupid to actually BUILD an atomic bomb, even with North Korean and Paki help, both of which are incredibly peace loving and pro-Jewish, it can never happen.

Right, Mr Eichmann?.

I will be SO happy when we can resolve the Final Solution to the Leftist Problem...

I don't think you'll see the US lead a ground strike against Iran, but they'll probably provide air support.

Would be the worst move in recent military history. Iran isn't afraid of being attacked, and even seemed to be letting Ahmadinejad stir things up, because they know they have some heavy backup with Russia and China, and maybe more. If Israel throws the first punch then it's on. Crazy bastards could spark WWIII, and the US and Israel would be greatly outnumbered. Probably drag Canada and Britain into it somehow for help, and there we go, everyone getting killed for years.

You know, I don't want this to happen, but I have to admit I'm genuinely curious about how it would all play out. There hasn't been a real war since the modernization of military hardware, just little conflicts with a few countries throwing crap at each other. Wars aren't going to be grunts on the ground anymore, so...how will it work out? Satellites hurling missiles at each other? Drone dog fights?

You can't even really have massive fleet battles anymore because almost all of the 'top' battle groups are American and European.

Assuming it isn't just nukes all the way down, of course.

B) Who the hell still uses battleships?

Aren't battleships cruise missile boats now? Isn't how we used ours in Gulf War 1?

They were, I believe Regan had them overhauled in the 80s but after the Gulf War I am 99.9% sure they have all been taken out of active service. I don't know if all of them are floating museums now, some might just be sitting around decommissioned at a navy base.

The USS Missouri is at Ford Island, Hawaii, next to the Arizona Memorial. (Maybe all the Japanese tourists can appreciate the plaque on the deck where the Surrender was signed...)
The USS Iowa is at Mare Island, Vallejo, Ca. I think the plan is to open the museum in the spring.
Uss Alabama, Mobile
USS Wisconsin, Norfolk.

Those were the last active BBs.

There's not really any need for nukes anymore. Except maybe for the EMP effect but i'd be willing to bet they have more efficient ways of doing that by now. I'm very curious how it would play out too, but it's exactly what the world doesn't need. And i hope i'm wrong, but you must be blind not to see how countries are all aligning with this issue, it could be a tipping point.

Science_Guy_3.14159: J. Frank Parnell: Beer Drinking Masturbator: I really want someone to figure out the energy consumption that it would take to keep that in the air

I don't think it's possible for those 4 fans to offset the weight, but they're probably made from adamantium and charged with the power of Odin in comicbookland.

Even then, been a long time since fluid dynamics but I don't think you could output enough thrust with just 4 fans, I think you would need to have a turbojet setup with turbine after turbine increasing the thrust. I think a fan has a peak efficiency before you start to loose thrust as you increase rotation rate.

It's called "cavitation" and is a function of the aerodynamic efficiency of the turbine blade airfoil, the speed of rotation, and angle of attack. (This is for Democrats. The ones who have a PHD in Poli Sci, and can't change a tire. In other words, useless drones.)

Russia ain't got squat. Heck, it turns out they were pretty much a paper tiger since about the mid-'60s. China is not going to be projecting power anytime soon. Not to Iran they're not. 20 years from now, anything could happen. But not today.

When Iran nukes Tel Aviv, and Dear Loser promises to send a harsh letter, the Norks will strike, 2 weeks later, once the Pacific Fleet, (what's left of it...) is well past Sri Lanka on the way to the Gulf.

The WH and the Democrats will cheer, and Teheran will vanish in a final Israeli strike. The US will do shiat.
