Why the tag?

Shouldnt it be 'obvious'?

First person to argue how this is the improper use of the word ironic wins a cookie. Oh yeah, fence post.

Sounds OK to me.

characterized by often poignant difference or incongruity
between what is expected and what actually is; "madness,
an ironic fate for such a clear thinker"; "it was ironical
that the well-planned scheme failed so completely"

I expect makers of accounting software to be good at accounting. They're not. Irony.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm about to go take a cigarette break under the no smoking sign.

But they DON'T have accounting problems. They've got sales problems. If the store was about, say, a major fine being levied by the IRS, or an SEC investigation for cooking the books, THAT would be ironic.

No fair Gatget, you actually read the article!

Allow me to disagree. Low revenues *are* an accounting problem (sorry, porblem). Any accountant worth his salt can juggle the books to make the company show a profit. Isn't that the entire purpose of accountancy? Making bad companies look good? :D

A note from the management:

In an effort to make this site more interesting, we have hired a writer from a major tabloid to fabricate amusing headlines for our story links. Since most farkers don't actually read the stories, we don't think this is a problem.

We have instructed the new writer (who is anthrax-free, we're told), never to reference Elvis, aliens, two-headed babies, three-boobied women or college student intellect in any headlines.

We're constantly trying to improve fark for YOU, our beloved readers, so please... no biatching.
2001-11-19 10:37:19 AM
Actually this is one of the more proper uses of the word ironic that I have seen on fark.

on a related story, Microsoft announces there Might be some "bugs" in Windows XP.

I figured they were short on cash... I called their "24/7" software registration line (their stuff won't run if you don't register) on a sunday, and got a recorded message asking me to call back during business hours.

Looks like someone is having a spelling porblem.
2001-11-19 01:55:48 PM
Its all tax deductible

Sailing on the wide accountancy
2001-11-19 02:44:48 PM
Looks like a lot of people realized that the title uses the word "porblem." I am such a person.
2001-11-19 03:09:35 PM
First PORBLEMS and then later on MASTEER PLANS. Ok, I dont feel so bad when I make typos now.
2001-11-19 03:23:08 PM
Shouldn't the people that post the links fix stuff like that, or do they keep it so we can make fun of the person that submitted it? Any answer to this porblem?
2001-11-19 03:47:15 PM
How did you create this invoice?
