If Obama is a Muslim, why isn't he rioting over that horrible movie?

Well, Limbaugh can see through the obvious trickery...

Rush Limbaugh wondered Wednesday whether Al Qaeda "gave up" Osama bin Laden to help President Barack Obama win reelection.
"What if Ayman al-Zawahiri and other Al Qaeda leaders gave up Osama bin Laden for the express purpose of making Obama look good?" the conservative radio host said... "Giving Obama stature, political capital?"

Seriously, how could anyone believe that Al Qaeda would benefit them in some way from letting its leader be killed by U.S. special forces?

Oh, right...Republican Logic.

he's a devout Muslim that has his own beer recipe.

yes, that makes perfect sense.

skinink: What does it matter? I'd be shocked if Obama lost the election to Romney despite the fact that all Romney should do is hammer Obama with how lousy the economy is. George H W Bush lost his re-election bid even though he had just led a very large war coalition to oust Saddam from Kuwait and the recession he had then was nothing compared to the recession we have just been through.

It's just a fact that Romney is a horrible Presidential candidate. He's the Republican's Mike Dukakis.

Well, in 92 we also had Ross Perot, who took over 19 million votes largely from Bush's base, which had a lot to do with why Clinton won.

The same way he eats pork and drinks alcohol despite these two being against Muslim customs. Secret Muslim.

fusillade762: Gergesa: I am going to take a wild guess and say that calling him a muslim is like some sort of codeword for them. They may not actually believe he is a muslim but use that just like a catchall term for everything.

I wouldn't be so sure. The conservative echo chamber can reinforce all kinds of wacky beliefs in people who are predisposed to them.

They do. I, unfortunately, end up talking to one about once a week who think that I probably agree or at least have doubts bc I'm white.

I freaking hate election season.

American Muslims in general have been conspicuously absent from those protests. It's almost as if they understand that the U.S. government does not have the authority to silence people it disagrees with.

yeah, but the pity is that it refers to a government test. The people are free to perceive and vote however they wish.

I've also heard a theory that bin Laden, knowing he was terminally ill, called his buddy Barack and told him where he was so he could send his SEAL Team to get him. Essentially, bin Laden sacrificed himself so his good friend and fellow Muslin terrorist could get the credit for it.

nonsense. they don't care much now, but when a candidate with a Muslim background runs for higher office the euro-derp brigade will come out in force.

Muslims already had a big influence in the french elections, despite not having any parliamentary representation. Expect that to change (and for the sake of immigrants in france, I hope it does).

Doc Daneeka: I'm a Democrat, and I don't believe Obama's a Christian.

He's a highly educated, erudite, thoughtful, intelligent man. I'm going to go with "secret atheist," like probably many of our national political leaders (in both parties) have been, but can't admit to in this country.

I've considered that notion before. It'd take a long, long stretch of living a lie, but I guess I can imagine it.... a person with that level of political aspiration has to make worse compromises than merely faking a religious devotion (hell, I was capable of fooling my entire, extended family, for years on end, beginning when I was only 11 yrs old, and I had zero political aspirations)...

But a simpler explanation is that he believes in the Christian God as something beyond human knowledge, isn't a pushy convert-type, and understands the benefits, to both sides, of maintaining the separation of church and state.

remember before last election when Mr.Obama told us of the man of the cloth who was his "lifelong spiritual guide"? then we saw Obamas preaching friend spitting hate whitey rhetoric from behind the pulpit. I am not saying BSABSVR. I'm 1000% for Obama. I'm saying it's the first election where truth is not expected. Witness that there was more outrage from the marathon community over the under 3 hour marathon lie than the 5 or 6 whoppers Ryan told during his nomination speech.

It doesn't matter, to them, "He's not American like we are, he grew up in Indonesia" is the newest talking point, said with a straight face. The more bookish among them will say, "He went to madrassa, his father was Muslim and Obama rejected it. In their eyes he's worse than an infidel, he's an apostasy, and listen to that funny way he says Taliban!!"

He will never be good enough, center-right or compliant enough for them. Hell he probably could kill Osama bin ladin and it still wouldn't be enough. Oh wait.

At some point, you have to feel with the 30% or so of this country who choose to immerse themselves in the Fox News/right wing talk alternate reality. This country must just really seem like a terrible, awful place full of nihilists who want the country to self destruct. And these people have been winning lots of elections recently and are looking likely to win again in 2012. Must be terrible.
