Nuclear Monk: How terrible was the horse masseuse that led to the need for this sort of legislation?

Terrible enough to cause vets to not be able to charge hundreds of dollars to do something anyone with a minimum amount of training could do for twenty bucks and a bottle of cheap bourbon.

It has nothing to do with quality of service or a health risk to the public. It has everything to do with protecting special interests.

Let's put it this way. What if it was against the law for anyone except a licensed dentist to tell you how to brush your teeth? Now imagine a parent getting arrested and fined because her little snowflake happened to mention in preschool how mommy taught her to brush her teeth. Could a dentist give better brushing advice? Almost certainly. Should it be a legal requirement? You've got to be kidding.

Can I point out it is not yet another 'legalize marijuana' article that has been written by any average college freshman 100 times before? Is that not good thing?

What sort of license do you need to massage horses in Nebraska? Veterinarian license? Business license?
And people say there's not too much government regulation?
