Are you suggesting that BP's clean up efforts were inadequate?

well i'm sure glad they locked up those responsible for such an ecological disaster and loss of human life. wait... tony hayward is managing those newly 'liberated' oil fields in iraq now and didn't get any form of punishment whatsoever? farking joke of a country.

But let's relax those regulations, please, because they're restricting oil companies' ability to make a profit.

And with more profits, they would OF COURSE create more jobs.

Just like all the other big companies are doing now.

Are you suggesting that the 9 brazillion gallons of "dispersant" didn't make the oil magically disappear forever, like they said it did?

I hate these assholes with the heat of a thousand suns. Not for the blow-up itself, which was bad enough, but for their attempted cover-up of one of biggest oil spills in history. "Hey, we made it all go away! Come back to the Gulf!" I hope every single tar ball washes up on land, and each one costs them $1000 to pick it up.

More importantly, will Joe Barton (Ratbastard-Texas) apologize to BP for this horrible piece of journalistic trash?

I'm certainly not defending BP, but tar balls have been washing up along the gulf coast for as long as there has been a gulf coast. There's oil in them thar waters!

I call bullshiat on it ever disappearing to begin with. Anyone who ever routinely flies over the Gulf on trips can clearly see the endless fields of unskimmed oil.

The company says it has spent more than $14 billion cleaning up and treating the gulf shoreline since the oil disaster.

Yay! Stimulus money!

BTW - George W Bush originally set up the Solyndra loans.

Nothing surprises me anymore. When I read this I just sighed and nodded while thinking "Of course they lied, it's BP".

/Modern Marvels: Engineering Disasters had an episode that included the 2000-something explosion at a BP oil refinery that happened because they never upgraded or maintained the equipment and the workers constantly didn't follow procedures
//all of its refineries were like that, and BP "promised" to fix them all after the explosion, which they still haven't done today

Does anyone remember when the news stated (per BP, presumably) that these oil-eating bacteria ate it all? Was I the only one whose jaw dropped while doing a face palm when people actually believed that?

I think if millions of gallons of oil got dumped on Alabama, it would be the best thing to happen to that place.

The courts should require BP to use people affected by the disaster in their advertising campaigns. Show the businesses and lives ruined by the oil spill, not the handpicked few who BP has paid and then promote to show what "big oil" has done to fix things,.
